On the Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia, the chairman of the YEREVAN board, the deputy of the NA “Civil Contract” faction, Sasun Mikaelyan, who visited the “Yerablur” military pantheon, insisted in a briefing with journalists that Armenia has not had internationally recognized and approved state borders to this day.

“We say we are independent. Have we had a state border? We have been vassals of another state, we have done whatever they have dictated over the years,” Mikaelyan said.

«Մենք ասում ենք՝ անկախ ենք. ունեցե՞լ ենք մենք պետական սահման։ Մենք եղել ենք ուրիշ պետության վասալ, ինչ թելադրել են այս տարիների ընթացքում, արել ենք»,- ասաց Միքայելյանը։

To the journalist’s observation that the internationally recognized territory and borders of the Republic of Armenia are enshrined in documents, and where are the RA servicemen standing, Mikaelyan responded: “It is enshrined, but it is not approved. We are standing where the demarcation should be. Let’s stand until the demarcation occurs, let’s be able to hold it so that we can go to the demarcation. Aliyev doesn’t interest me at all, I’m interested in us being able to demarcate the border.”

Լրագրողի դիտարկմանը, թե ՀՀ միջազգայնորեն ճանաչված տարածքն ու սահմաններն ամրագրված են փաստաթղթերում, և որտե՞ղ են կանգնած ՀՀ զինծառայողները, Միքայելյանն արձագանքեց. «Ամրագրված է, բայց հաստատված չէ։ Մենք կանգնած ենք այնտեղ, որտեղ պիտի սահմանազատում լինի։ Կանգնենք մինչև սահմանազատում լինի, կարողանանք պահենք, որ սահմանազատման գնանք։ Ալիևն ինձ հեչ չի հետաքրքրում, ինձ հետաքրքրում է, որ մենք կարողանանք սահմանազատում իրականացնել»։

During the briefing, the situation became tense when the journalist asked about the anniversary of the Armenian exodus from Artsakh and why high-ranking officials had not visited Yerablur. Mikaelyan first noted that the question should be addressed to them, and then accused journalists of exploiting the names of the victims.

Ճեպազրույցի ընթացքում իրավիճակը լարվեց, երբ լրագրողը հարցրեց Արցախի հայաթափման տարելիցի և այն մասին, թե ինչու բարձրաստիճան պաշտոնյաները չեն այցելել Եռաբլուր։ Միքայելյանը նախ նշեց, որ այդ հարցը պետք է ուղղել հենց նրանց, ապա լրագրողներին մեղադրել զոհվածների անունը շահարկելու մեջ։

At that moment, one of the men who had visited Yerablur with Sasun Mikaelyan interrupted the conversation, uttering rude expressions at the journalists.

Այդ պահին Սասուն Միքայելյանի հետ «Եռաբլուր» այցելած տղամարդկանցից են միջամտել զրույցին՝ լրագրողների հասցեին հնչեցնելով կոպիտ արտահայտություններ։
