Following protests in May of this year, when they blocked access to the landfill for garbage trucks, they secured a commitment from the company to take action: monitor the sanitary conditions of the area, cover the waste with soil daily to prevent its spread to the surrounding area, and maintain the landfill's cleanliness.

For many years, residents have complained of an unpleasant odor, as well as the wind blowing garbage and plastic bags across the adjacent fields.

According to residents, the odor is also noticeable in nearby villages, especially during windy weather.

"Because of the strong stench, it's sometimes impossible to even open the windows in the houses," residents say.
