The flag of Armenia was raised at the National Flag Monument in Rosario for the 35th anniversary of independence

The flags of Armenia and Argentina were raised on September 21st at the National Flag Monument in Rosario, with the participation of the Armenian consul and representatives of the Armenian community, to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia and continue a ceremony that has been held in the city since 2008.

The ceremony began with the raising of both flags and continued in the Hall of Flags of the historic Rosario monument.

"A gathering to celebrate the independence of the Armenian State and the ties that unite our communities," the National Flag Monument stated when sharing images of the ceremony.

The raising of the Armenian flag on the Monument's Flagpole has been a tradition since 2008, when Romina Demirdjian spearheaded efforts to incorporate the commemoration of Armenian independence into the ceremonies held in one of Rosario's main public spaces.

Demirdjian acted as a liaison to ascertain local regulations and obtain authorization from the administration of the National Flag Monument to raise the Armenian tricolor flag on this date.

Following this initial effort, the flag-raising ceremony was incorporated into the schedule of ceremonies held in Rosario and has been repeated annually as part of the activities of the city's Armenian community.
