The “Harout Panoian” branch of the Armenian Youth Union was established in São Paulo

The new branch aims to unite young Armenians from São Paulo and Osasco, strengthen their political and community education and participation, and promote their civic engagement as both Brazilians and Armenians with the Armenian Cause as a central focus of its activities.

La nueva filial se propone reunir a jóvenes armenios de São Paulo y Osasco, fortalecer su formación y participación política y comunitaria, y promover su compromiso ciudadano como brasileños y armenios con la Causa Armenia como uno de los ejes centrales de su actividad.

During the first Enthanur Yoghov (General Assembly), the main objectives and guidelines of UJA were presented, and the first committee to lead the branch was elected.

Durante el primer Enthanur Yoghov (Asamblea General) fueron presentados los principales objetivos y lineamientos de UJA y se eligió a la primera comisión para la conducción de la filial.

At the close of the assembly, Enger Vinícius Cassapian emphasized the importance of strengthening the unity of Armenian youth in São Paulo. For his part, Carlos Garabed Giovoglanian, head of the ARF-Tashnaktsutyun Gomidé Tro, expressed his support for the new youth organization. Hagop Tabakian, head of the ARF-Tashnaktsutyun Central Committee of South America, also spoke, emphasizing the need to create a space where young people can grow and develop as Armenians, and he valued the joint support of community institutions.

Al término de la asamblea, el enguer Vinícius Cassapian destacó la importancia de fortalecer la unidad de la juventud armenia de São Paulo. Por su parte, el hertabah del Gomidé Tro de la FRA-Tashnagtsutiún, Carlos Garabed Giovoglanian, expresó el apoyo a la nueva organización juvenil. También tomó la palabra Hagop Tabakian, hertabah del Comité Central de la FRA-Tashnagtsutiún de Sudamérica, quien señaló la necesidad de generar un espacio en el que los jóvenes puedan crecer y desarrollarse como armenios, y valoró el acompañamiento conjunto de las instituciones de la comunidad.

The branch is named after Harout Panoian, an ARF member and Armenian volunteer who participated in the 44-Day War of 2020 in Artsakh and was killed in action on November 5th during the defense of Shushi.

La filial lleva el nombre de Harout Panoian, militante de la FRA y voluntario armenio que participó en la Guerra de los 44 Días de 2020 en Artsaj y cayó en combate el 5 de noviembre durante la defensa de Shushí.

The choice of his name seeks to keep his commitment to Armenia and Artsakh alive among new generations. The members of the new branch, in this sense, pledged to honor his legacy through their activism and community work.

La elección de su nombre busca mantener presente entre las nuevas generaciones su compromiso con Armenia y Artsaj. Los integrantes de la nueva filial asumieron, en ese sentido, el compromiso de honrar su legado a través de su militancia y trabajo comunitario.

The event was attended by the Primate of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Brazil, Srpazan Nareg Berberian; the president of Hamazkayin Brazil, Takuhi Sarkissian; members of the “Arpi” branch of Homenetmen; members of the Gomidé Tro; and former members of the UJA of São Paulo.

La jornada contó con la presencia del Primado de la Iglesia Apostólica Armenia de Brasil, Srpazan Nareg Berberian; la presidenta de Hamazkayin Brasil, Takuhi Sarkissian; integrantes de la filial “Arpi” de HOM; miembros del Gomidé Tro y antiguos integrantes de UJA de São Paulo.

Representing the Central Committee of the Armenian Apostolic Federation (ARF) of South America were Hagop Tabakian (hertabah), Nigol Nigoghosian, and Agustín Analian. Also participating from Argentina were Diego Zakian (president) and Eduardo Torosian, members of the Homenetmen South America Regional Commission, who supported the establishment of the new branch.

Por el Comité Central de la FRA-Tashnagtsutiún de Sudamérica participaron Hagop Tabakian (hertabah), Nigol Nigoghosian y Agustín Analian. Desde Argentina participaron además Diego Zakian (presidente) y Eduardo Torosian, integrantes de la Comisión Regional de Homenetmen Sudamérica, quienes acompañaron la constitución de la nueva filial.

Special recognition was also given to Denis Tchobnian, Garo Hovhnessian, and Gladis Cassapian, who accompanied and guided the young people during the process leading up to the organization's formation.

También fueron especialmente reconocidos Denis Tchobnian, Garo Hovhnessian y Gladis Cassapian, quienes acompañaron y orientaron a los jóvenes durante el proceso previo a la conformación de la organización.

With the creation of the "Harout Panoian" branch, UJA once again has an organized structure in São Paulo and opens a new stage for the participation of young Armenians in the city within community life and the ARF-Dashnagtsutiún.

Con la creación de la filial “Harout Panoian”, UJA vuelve a contar con una estructura organizada en São Paulo y abre una nueva etapa para la participación de los jóvenes armenios de la ciudad dentro de la vida comunitaria y de la FRA-Tashnagtsutiún.
