Student enrollment at schools declined again this year

Student enrollment at Armenian schools continues to decline. According to information obtained from the schools, 2,589 students will attend Armenian schools in the 2026–2027 academic year. Last year, that figure was 2,686.

Operations targeting LGBTİ+ people are dragging Turkey down a “dark path”

European Parliament Turkey Rapporteur Nacho Sánchez Amor described the nationwide wave of detentions and raids targeting LGBTİ+ organizations and activists as a “shocking escalation of repression.” Saying that the “imposition of a moral agenda” constitutes a clear violation of fundamental rights, Amor stated that Turkey is being dragged down a “dark path.”

Album by Ari Aliciyan dedicated to the centenary of Khachatur Avetisyan

Composer, arranger, and pianist Ari Aliciyan has released A Centenary Tribute, an album he prepared to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Khachatur Avetisyan, one of the important composers of Armenian music. Consisting of eight pieces, the album reinterprets Avetisyan’s works through the distinctive sounds of piano, qanun, oud, and classical kemenche.

Members of the executive and supervisory boards detained

Police targeted the Kaos GL Association in Ankara, which is one of the prominent civil society organizations defending LGBTI+ rights. Members of its executive and supervisory boards, including alternate members, were detained during raids on their homes in the operation. Simultaneously, raids were also carried out against LGBTI+ associations and venues in different provinces.

Being a female prisoner from Mexico to Turkey
