German club bans fans from jumping in stands

The second Bundesliga team has asked fans not to jump in the stands during matches, The Guardian reports.

The club conducted a study and concluded that rhythmic jumping by fans in one of the stands causes vibrations that other fans considered dangerous, causes dizziness and could hinder the reconstruction of the stadium.

Bochum noted that the ban applies to synchronous jumping, but not spontaneous reactions.

It is still unknown what specific sanctions will be imposed on fans if the ban is violated.
