The Chairman of the Russian State Duma warns Armenia: "This is how it all started in Ukraine"

According to RIA Novosti, Volodymyr recalled that the summit held in Yerevan on the eve of Victory Day was attended by European guests who arrived at the invitation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, after which a number of speeches and statements were made, including by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

ՌԻԱ Նովոսթիի համաձայն, Վոլոտին յիշեցուցած է, թէ Յաղթանակի տօնի նախօրեակին Երեւանի մէջ տեղի ունեցած գագաթնաժողովին մասնակցած էին վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինեանի հրաւէրով ժամանած եւրոպացի հիւրեր, որմէ ետք հնչած են շարք մը ելոյթներ եւ յայտարարութիւններ, ներառեալ՝ Ուքրանիոյ նախագահ Վլատիմիր Զելենսքիի կողմէ։

“Today, the question arises for many as to how relations will develop after such steps by Pashinyan. Will our states become closer or farther apart? Will the tension be less or more? Most likely, the second. An involuntary parallel arises. This is exactly how it all began in Ukraine,” he wrote.

«Այսօր շատերու համար հարց կ՚առաջանայ, թէ ինչպէ՞ս պիտի զարգանան յարաբերութիւնները Փաշինեանի նման քայլերէն ետք։ Մեր պետութիւնները աւելի մօտ պիտի ըլլա՞ն, թէ հեռու։ Լարուածութիւնը աւելի քի՞չ պիտի ըլլայ, թէ շատ։ Ամենայն հաւանականութեամբ՝ երկրորդը։ Ակամայ զուգահեռ մը կը ծագի․ ճիշդ այսպէս սկսաւ ամէն ինչ Ուքրանիոյ մէջ», գրած է ան։

Volodymyr also stressed that Russia and the Armenian people have “one of the closest relations,” noting that the number of Armenians living in Russia is almost equal to the population of Armenia. He emphasized that Armenians in Russia hold various positions and are elected as deputies, while at the same time supporting their relatives in Armenia.

Վոլոտին նաեւ շեշտած է, թէ Ռուսիան եւ հայ ժողովուրդը ունին «ամենամտերիմ յարաբերութիւններէն մէկը»՝ նշելով, որ Ռուսիոյ մէջ բնակող հայերու թիւը գրեթէ հաւասար է Հայաստանի բնակչութեան թիւին։ Ան ընդգծած է, թէ հայերը Ռուսիոյ մէջ կը զբաղեցնեն տարբեր պաշտօններ եւ կ՚ընտրուին որպէս պատգամաւորներ՝ միաժամանակ աջակցելով Հայաստանի մէջ գտնուող իրենց հարազատներուն։

The chairman of the Russian State Duma also responded to possible criticism that such comments could be perceived as interference in Armenia’s internal affairs. According to him, the issue is “not about sovereignty or interference, but about morality and decency.”

Ռուսիոյ պետական տումայի նախագահը նաեւ արձագանգած է հնարաւոր քննադատութիւններուն, թէ նման մեկնաբանութիւնները կրնան ընկալուիլ որպէս միջամտութիւն Հայաստանի ներքին գործերուն։ Ըստ անոր, խնդիրը «ինքնիշխանութեան կամ միջամտութեան մասին չէ, այլ բարոյականութեան եւ պարկեշտութեան»։

Volodymyr added that Russia builds its relations with other countries on the principles of friendship, mutually beneficial cooperation, and non-interference in internal affairs, noting that the State Duma continues to work towards strengthening Armenian-Russian friendly relations.

Վոլոտին աւելցուցած է, թէ Ռուսիան իր յարաբերութիւնները այլ երկիրներու հետ կը կառուցէ բարեկամութեան, փոխշահաւէտ համագործակցութեան եւ ներքին գործերուն չմիջամտելու սկզբունքներուն վրայ՝ նշելով, որ Պետական տուման կը շարունակէ աշխատիլ հայ-ռուսական բարեկամական յարաբերութիւններու ամրապնդման ուղղութեամբ։
