An Argentine parliamentary delegation visited Armenia as part of a tour organized by the FURP

The delegation included National Deputies Cristian Ritondo, Oscar Zago, Sabrina Ajmechet, Giselle Castelnuovo, and María Jimena López; Senators Guillermo Andrada and Eduardo Vischi; FURP President Francisco Quintana; Matías Patanian; and Daniel Ketchibachian, CEO of Aeropuertos Argentina.

La comitiva estuvo integrada por los diputados nacionales Cristian Ritondo, Oscar Zago, Sabrina Ajmechet, Giselle Castelnuovo y María Jimena López; los senadores Guillermo Andrada y Eduardo Vischi; el presidente de la FURP, Francisco Quintana; Matías Patanian y Daniel Ketchibachian, CEO de Aeropuertos Argentina.

The delegation's agenda also included a visit to the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex in Tsitsernakaberd, where the Argentine representatives paid tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide. The delegation also visited Converse Bank, where they held a meeting as part of the tour's activities and exchanges aimed at strengthening ties between Argentina and Armenia.

La agenda de la delegación incluyó además una visita al Complejo Memorial del Genocidio Armenio de Tsitsernakaberd, donde los representantes argentinos rindieron homenaje a las víctimas del Genocidio Armenio. La comitiva también visitó Converse Bank, donde mantuvo un encuentro en el marco de las actividades de la gira y de los intercambios destinados a fortalecer los vínculos entre Argentina y Armenia.

At the National Assembly of Armenia, the delegation met with the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, Sargis Khandanyan; the Vice-Chairwoman of the Committee, Maria Karapetyan; and Deputy Tatevik Gasparyan.

En la Asamblea Nacional de Armenia, la delegación se reunió con el presidente de la Comisión Permanente de Relaciones Exteriores, Sargis Khandanyan; la vicepresidenta de la Comisión, Maria Karapetyan; y la diputada Tatevik Gasparyan.

Khandanyan highlighted the inter-parliamentary ties between Argentina and Armenia and raised the need to deepen cooperation between the legislative bodies of both countries.

Khandanyan destacó los vínculos interparlamentarios entre Argentina y Armenia y planteó la necesidad de profundizar la cooperación entre los órganos legislativos de ambos países.

Vischi thanked them for the reception and congratulated Khandanyan on his re-election as Chairman of the Committee. During the meeting, the participants discussed the possibility of expanding bilateral cooperation, deepening interaction in multilateral organizations and forums, and maintaining continuity of visits and dialogue between the two parliaments.

Vischi agradeció la recepción y felicitó a Khandanyan por su reelección como presidente de la Comisión. Durante el encuentro, los participantes abordaron la posibilidad de ampliar la cooperación bilateral, profundizar la interacción en organismos y espacios multilaterales y mantener la continuidad de las visitas y del diálogo entre ambos parlamentos.

Khandanyan also presented the Argentine delegation with the Armenian government's position on the regional process and the negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

For their part, Karapetyan and Gasparyan spoke about the historical, cultural, and social ties between Argentina and Armenia and emphasized the importance of relations with the South American country.

The delegation was also received at the Holy See in Echmiadzin by Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians.

During the meeting, Karekin II highlighted the relationship between the Armenian and Argentine peoples and noted the importance of such exchanges for deepening understanding and strengthening ties between the two countries.

The Catholicos also expressed his gratitude for the support Argentina has provided to the Armenian people at various times and emphasized the role played by the Armenian community in Argentina in strengthening bilateral relations.

Karekin II also spoke about the mission and activities of the Armenian Apostolic Church and emphasized the preservation of the Christian faith, national identity, and spiritual values.
