Flavio Bolsonaro wins first round of Brazil's presidential election

Bolsonaro won 47 percent of the vote in the first round of the presidential election, ahead of incumbent President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who won 45 percent.

Bolsonaro, however, did not receive more than 50 percent of the vote needed to win in the first round. The second round will be held on October 25, where Flavio Bolsonaro and Lula da Silva will compete.
