The Mother See issued a statement

The so-called report on the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church published by the Government of the Republic of Armenia is unconstitutional, uncanonical and illegal in its content and form. The Mother See has issued a statement to this effect.

ՀՀ Կառավարության կողմից հրապարակված Հայաստանյայց Առաքելական Սուրբ Եկեղեցու մասին այսպես կոչված զեկույցն իր բովանդակության և ձևի մեջ հակասահմանադրական է, հակականոնական և անօրինական։ Այս մասին հայտարարություն է տարածել Մայր Աթոռը։

“The ‘report’, prepared on the basis of accusations and slander published on social networks and in the media with the waste of state funds, is a manifestation of political revenge, vendetta and reprehensible interference in the internal life of the Church.

«Պետական միջոցների մսխմամբ՝ սոցցանցերում և լրատվամիջոցներում հրապարակված մեղադրանքների ու հերյուրանքների հիման վրա շարադրված «զեկույցը» դրսևորումն է քաղաքական հաշվեհարդարի, քինախնդրության և Եկեղեցու ներքին կյանքին դատապարտելի միջամտության։

We consider it appropriate to once again record that in 2026 The position adopted by the Bishops’ Conference convened in St. Pölten, Austria, on February 17-19, 2019, according to which it is necessary for the authorities of the Republic of Armenia to:

Տեղին ենք համարում վերստին արձանագրել 2026թ․ փետրվարի 17-19-ին Ավստրիայի Սանկտ Փյոլթըն քաղաքում գումարված Եպիսկոպոսաց հավաքի որդեգրած դիրքորոշումը, որով հարկ է, որ ՀՀ իշխանությունները՝

– stop the persecution of the Church and respect the centuries-old sovereignty and autonomy of the Church, anchoring Church-State relations on mutual respect, a clear separation of powers and the priority of national interests,

– դադարեցնեն Եկեղեցու հանդեպ հալածանքները և հարգեն Եկեղեցու դարերով ամրագրված ինքնիշխանությունն ու ինքնավարությունը՝ Եկեղեցի-պետություն հարաբերությունները խարսխելով փոխադարձ հարգանքի, իրավասությունների հստակ տարանջատման և ազգային շահի առաջնահերթության վրա,

– put an end to the repression of clergymen and the nationally elected Patriarch of All Armenians through fabricated accusations and slander,

– վերջ դնեն շինծու մեղադրանքներով ու զրպարտություններով եկեղեցականների ու ազգընտիր Ամենայն Հայոց Հայրապետի նկատմամբ բռնաճնշումներին,

– act exclusively in accordance with the Constitution, legislation and international laws of the Republic of Armenia and remain faithful to the proclaimed democratic principles, guaranteeing freedom of conscience, religion and belief in the country, ensuring social solidarity instead of division,

– գործեն բացառաբար ՀՀ Սահմանադրությամբ, օրենսդրությամբ և միջազգային օրենքներով և հավատարիմ մնան հռչակված ժողովրդավարական սկզբունքներին՝ երաշխավորելով երկրում խղճի, կրոնի և դավանանքի ազատությունը, պառակտման փոխարեն ապահովելով հասարակական համերաշխություն,

– resolve existing problems and contradictions in the spirit of dialogue, without preconditions, refraining from unpromising ultimatums from the conversation.

– առկա խնդիրներն ու հակառակությունները փարատեն երկխոսության ոգով, առանց նախապայմանների՝ զերծ մնալով անհեռանկար վերջնագրային խոսույթից։

It is obvious that the RA authorities are making efforts to create an artificial crisis in church life. Any reform movement dictated by arbitrary political approaches, machinations and coercion is unacceptable. The processes of overcoming the challenges facing the Armenian Church and improving it are carried out only by decisions of the highest canonical church bodies.

Ակնհայտ է, որ հենց ՀՀ իշխանությունների կողմից են ջանքեր գործադրվում արհեստական ճգնաժամ առաջ բերելու եկեղեցական կյանքում։ Անընդունելի է քաղաքական կամայական մոտեցումներով, մեքենայություններով ու պարտադրանքներով թելադրված բարենորոգման որևէ շարժում։ Հայոց Եկեղեցու առջև ծառացած մարտահրավերների հաղթահարման և բարեկարգության գործընթացներն իրականացվում են միմիայն եկեղեցական կանոնական բարձրագույն մարմինների որոշումներով։

This reprehensible policy adopted to weaken the Church and discredit the clergy can never serve the good of the homeland and our people throughout the world, to strengthen unity, and especially to withstand the current trials in the face of external security threats, "the statement said.

Եկեղեցու տկարացման, եկեղեցականության հեղինակազրկման որդեգրված սույն դատապարտելի քաղաքականությունը երբեք չի կարող ծառայել հայրենիքի և աշխարհասփյուռ մեր ժողովրդի բարիքին, միասնականության ամրապնդմանը, առավել ևս արտաքին անվտանգային սպառնալիքների հանդիման՝ առկա փորձությունների դիմագրավմանը»,-նշված է հայտարարության մեջ։
