The United States, Armenia, and Azerbaijan issued a joint statement on the one-year anniversary of the Washington Summit.

“One year ago, President Trump hosted a historic summit at the White House with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, during which they signed a Joint Declaration of Peace,” the statement said.

“Hace un año, el presidente Trump organizó una cumbre histórica en la Casa Blanca con el primer ministro de Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, y el presidente de Azerbaiyán, Ilham Aliyev, durante la cual firmaron una Declaración Conjunta de Paz”, señala el comunicado.

The statement recalled that, in the presence of the three leaders, the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a draft of the “Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.”

La declaración recordó que, en presencia de los tres líderes, los ministros de Relaciones Exteriores de Armenia y Azerbaiyán rubricaron un borrador del “Acuerdo sobre el Establecimiento de la Paz y las Relaciones Interestatales entre la República de Armenia y la República de Azerbaiyán”.

“On this first anniversary, we feel profound pride in all that our countries have achieved together and a strong determination to continue building on the foundations that ended decades of conflict and set the South Caucasus on a path to a more prosperous future,” the three countries stated.

“En este primer aniversario, sentimos un profundo orgullo por todo lo que nuestros países han logrado juntos y una gran determinación de seguir construyendo sobre los cimientos que pusieron fin a décadas de conflicto y encaminaron al Cáucaso Meridional hacia un futuro más próspero”, afirmaron los tres países.

The statement also reported that Pashinyan and Aliyev jointly nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

El comunicado también informó que Pashinyan y Aliyev propusieron conjuntamente a Trump para el Premio Nobel de la Paz.

“In recognition of this historic and momentous effort to achieve peace, Prime Minister Pashinyan and President Aliyev jointly nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize,” the statement indicated.

“En reconocimiento a este esfuerzo histórico y trascendental para lograr la paz, el primer ministro Pashinyan y el presidente Aliyev propusieron conjuntamente al presidente Trump para el Premio Nobel de la Paz”, indicó la declaración.

According to the text, the US-backed Joint Declaration established a roadmap for Armenia and Azerbaijan to consolidate peace, achieve prosperity, and deepen their alliance.

Según el texto, la Declaración Conjunta respaldada por Estados Unidos estableció una hoja de ruta para que Armenia y Azerbaiyán consoliden la paz, alcancen la prosperidad y profundicen su alianza.

Among the progress mentioned, the three countries highlighted that Armenia and Azerbaijan maintained stability along their border and took concrete steps to normalize relations, demarcate the border, and build trust.

Entre los avances mencionados, los tres países destacaron que Armenia y Azerbaiyán mantuvieron la estabilidad a lo largo de la frontera y adoptaron medidas concretas para normalizar las relaciones, delimitar la frontera y generar confianza.

The statement also highlighted the progress of the “Trump Way for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) project, a multimodal transit route that will connect Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan via Armenia.

La declaración también resaltó el avance del proyecto “Trump Way for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP), una ruta de tránsito multimodal que conectará Azerbaiyán con Najicheván a través de Armenia.

“The Trump Way for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) multimodal transit route is moving from a vision to a reality,” the statement said.

According to the statement, engineering studies are already underway in Armenia, and Azerbaijan has practically completed the construction of a highway and a railway on its territory to connect with the TRIPP in Armenia. The three countries also expressed their support for the construction of a power transmission line as part of the project.

Según la declaración, ya se realizan estudios de ingeniería en Armenia y Azerbaiyán prácticamente finalizó la construcción de una autopista y una vía férrea en su territorio para conectarse con la TRIPP en Armenia. Los tres países también expresaron su apoyo a la construcción de una línea de transmisión eléctrica en el marco del proyecto.

The United States also announced a $201 million grant to the Trans-Caspian Business Fund to attract private sector investment in the South Caucasus and Central Asia segments of the Trans-Caspian Trade Route, also known as the Middle Corridor.

Estados Unidos informó además una subvención de 201 millones de dólares al Fondo Empresarial Transcaspiano para atraer inversión del sector privado en los tramos del Cáucaso Meridional y Asia Central de la Ruta Comercial Transcaspiana, también conocida como Corredor Medio.

The statement asserted that Washington strengthened its ties with Armenia and Azerbaijan through new bilateral strategic partnership agreements and memoranda of understanding on energy security, infrastructure, border security, artificial intelligence, semiconductor innovation, and critical minerals.

El comunicado sostuvo que Washington fortaleció sus vínculos con Armenia y Azerbaiyán mediante nuevos acuerdos bilaterales de asociación estratégica y memorandos de entendimiento sobre seguridad energética, infraestructura, seguridad fronteriza, inteligencia artificial, innovación en semiconductores y minerales críticos.

It also noted that Azerbaijan unilaterally lifted all transit restrictions to Armenia. According to the statement, approximately 60,000 tons of goods were transported to and from Armenia through Azerbaijani territory over the past year, and Azerbaijan supplied Armenia with 20,000 tons of petroleum products.

También se señaló que Azerbaiyán levantó unilateralmente todas las restricciones de tránsito hacia Armenia. Según la declaración, durante el último año se transportaron aproximadamente 60.000 toneladas de mercancías desde y hacia Armenia a través del territorio azerbaiyano, y Azerbaiyán suministró a Armenia 20.000 toneladas de productos petrolíferos.

“Both countries continue to work to increase bilateral trade,” the statement indicated.

The statement also mentioned an agreement between Armenian and Azerbaijani telecommunications operators on internet connectivity, aimed at diversifying regional channels, increasing reliability and resilience in the South Caucasus, and developing telecommunications infrastructure in Eurasia.

Another highlight was the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group and its related structures, following a joint request from Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“Following a joint request from Armenia and Azerbaijan, the OSCE Minsk Group and related structures were dissolved in recognition that the era of unresolved conflict has ended,” the statement noted.

“Tras una solicitud conjunta de Armenia y Azerbaiyán, el Grupo de Minsk de la OSCE y las estructuras relacionadas fueron disueltas en reconocimiento de que la era del conflicto sin resolver ha terminado”, señaló el comunicado.

The United States, Armenia, and Azerbaijan also reported that Armenia and Azerbaijan joined the Peace Council at Washington’s invitation.

In closing, the three countries reaffirmed their support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Armenia and Azerbaijan within their internationally recognized borders.

“The three countries remain committed to fully implementing the Joint Declaration of August 8, in accordance with its letter and spirit, and to unlocking the unique economic potential of the region,” they stated.
