The Most Important Guest I’ll Ever Interview: My Mom

Tonight on Louisa LIVE, I’m joined by probably the most important guest I will ever have on this show—my beautiful mother, Knarik Sharamatyan. And making this episode even more special, it airs today, September 3rd, on her birthday. ❤️ Born and raised in Yerevan, Armenia, my mom attended School No. 129 and later continued her education at Yerevan State University. After moving to the United States, she made it her mission to preserve Armenian culture, language, and identity for the next generation. She taught Armenian language, literature, and history at John Marshall, Fremont, and Mark Keppel Elementary Schools. In 1995, she also worked at an Armenian educational school founded by Mr. Nubar Janoyan, an experience that helped inspire her to create something of her own. In 1997, she founded Hayastan Saturday School, which operated for 10 years, followed by Hayastan Preschool and Daycare in 1998, where she spent more than 25 years educating generations of Armenian children. My brother and I are part of that legacy. Because of my mom, we learned to speak, read, and write Armenian, and being born here in America, that connection to my roots is something I will always be grateful to her for. In this very personal episode, we talk about her childhood in Armenia, leaving her homeland, building a new life in America, motherhood, marriage, family, becoming a grandmother, preserving Armenian identity, and the legacy she hopes to leave behind. This one is incredibly special to me.

Glendale Mayor Ardy Kassakhian Gets REAL About Politics, Armenians & Public Life

Tonight on Louisa Live, I’m joined by Glendale Mayor Ardashes “Ardy” Kassakhian — public affairs strategist, educator, writer, father, husband, and proud Armenian-American. With nearly 30 years of experience in politics and public affairs, Ardy began working on political campaigns while still in college before serving 15 years as Glendale’s elected City Clerk. Today, he serves as Mayor of Glendale, teaches political science, and sits on regional boards focused on water, housing, and transportation policies impacting Glendale and Southern California. A graduate of both UCLA and Northwestern University and the son of immigrant parents, Ardy opens up about his journey into public service, the realities of local politics, civic engagement, representation, and why Armenian-Americans having a voice in public life matters. We also get into the lighter side of politics, family, culture, and what it really means to be Armenian-American — including passionate debates, way too much food, and, of course, the unsolicited relationship advice no Armenian family gathering would be complete without.

Can Hypnotherapy Really Change Your Life? Liza Boubari Explains

Today on Louisa LIVE, I’m joined by Liza Boubari — an award-winning clinical hypnotherapist, founder of HealWithin, international speaker, corporate wellness trainer, and author. For more than 25 years, Liza has helped thousands of people overcome anxiety, stress, emotional eating, insomnia, fears, and other life challenges by tapping into the power of the subconscious mind and strengthening the mind-body connection. Inspired by her own healing journey, Liza created The Boubari 3E Method™ — Evoke, Embrace, Evolve and her signature philosophy, “Listen to Your Body Talk™.” Her approach teaches us that our symptoms may be messages rather than the problem itself. Through clinical hypnotherapy, guided visualization, and mind-body healing techniques, she helps people uncover limiting subconscious patterns, calm the nervous system, and create lasting transformation. Liza has presented stress management and peak performance programs for corporations and organizations around the world, including the aerospace industry, AT&T, and audiences in Dubai. Her work has been featured across major media outlets, and she has been recognized as Hypnotherapist of the Year, Woman of the Year, and one of the Top 100 Global Women. In this episode, we dive into the subconscious mind, stress, anxiety, emotional eating, healing, the mind-body connection, and how the patterns we carry can impact our everyday lives. As Liza says: “It’s not what you eat… it’s what’s eating at you.”
