Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with a delegation led by Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal Al Saud of Saudi Arabia at the Government building in Yerevan, discussing bilateral relations, investment opportunities and regional stability. Pashinyan welcomed the prince’s visit and highlighted the decision to hold this year’s ceremony of the Prince Talal International Prize for Human Development in Armenia. “This is very good and pleasant news for us. We know that it is a very prestigious award, and I will also attend the ceremony this evening, which is a great honor for me,” Pashinyan said. The prime minister also referred to the ongoing 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), noting the growing importance of biodiversity and sustainability. “I hope that through international cooperation we will be able to find a solution to this global problem,” he said, welcoming the prince and asking about his impressions of Armenia and his assessment of the current situation. Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal Al Saud thanked the Armenian side for its warm hospitality, noting that this was his second visit to Armenia in the past two years. “Honestly, every time I visit Armenia, I want to come back again,” he said, adding that he hoped his wife and family would also visit the country to discover its culture and centuries-old history and explore potential joint projects. The prince said holding the Prince Talal International Prize for Human Development ceremony in Armenia was particularly important. He also expressed appreciation for the opportunity to see the country’s progress and highlighted the significance of hosting COP17 in Armenia. The two sides discussed prospects for further developing relations between Armenia and Saudi Arabia.
