UNDP Deputy Administrator to visit Armenia within the framework of COP17

United Nations (UN) Under-Secretary-General and First Deputy Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Haoliang Xu, will visit Armenia from October 14-17.

UNDP Deputy Administrator to visit Armenia within the framework of COP17

The Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) and First Deputy Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Haoliang Xu, will visit Armenia from 14 to 17 October to participate in the Leaders’ Summit of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP17).

Միավորված ազգերի կազմակերպության (ՄԱԿ) Գլխավոր քարտուղարի տեղակալ, ՄԱԿ-ի Զարգացման ծրագրի (ՄԱԶԾ) ադմինիստրատորի առաջին տեղակալ Հաոլիանգ Սյուն հոկտեմբերի 14-17-ը կայցելի Հայաստան՝ մասնակցելու ՄԱԿ-ի «Կենսաբանական բազմազանության մասին» կոնվենցիայի Կողմերի 17-րդ համաժողովի (CBD COP17) առաջնորդների գագաթնաժողովին։

As the second-highest-ranking UNDP Administrator, Haoliang Xu will join world leaders, heads of international organizations, policymakers and development partners to promote international cooperation on biodiversity conservation, sustainable development and financing for development that benefits nature.

Որպես ՄԱԶԾ-ի երկրորդ ամենաբարձր պաշտոն զբաղեցնող ղեկավար՝ Հաոլիանգ Սյուն կմիանա համաշխարհային առաջնորդներին, միջազգային կազմակերպությունների ղեկավարներին, քաղաքականություն մշակողներին և զարգացման գործընկերներին՝ խթանելու կենսաբազմազանության պահպանությանը, կայուն զարգացմանը և բնության դրական արդյունքներին միտված զարգացման ֆինանսավորմանն ուղղված միջազգային համագործակցությունը։

During the visit, he will meet with high-ranking representatives of the Armenian authorities, and will hold bilateral meetings with Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Hayk Konjoryan.

Այցի ընթացքում նա կհանդիպի Հայաստանի իշխանությունների բարձրաստիճան ներկայացուցիչների հետ, տեղի կունենան երկկողմ հանդիպումներ ՀՀ փոխվարչապետ Մհեր Գրիգորյանի և Ազգային ժողովի նախագահի տեղակալ Հայկ Կոնջորյանի հետ։

He will also meet with UNDP Armenia staff and visit a UNDP-supported energy efficiency project that presents sustainable development solutions at the local level.

Նա նաև կհանդիպի ՄԱԶԾ հայաստանյան գրասենյակի աշխատակիցներին և կայցելի ՄԱԶԾ-ի աջակցությամբ իրականացվող էներգաարդյունավետության ծրագիր, որը ներկայացնում է տեղական մակարդակում կայուն զարգացման լուծումներ։

“The UNDP Deputy Administrator will participate in the COP17 Leaders’ Summit and is expected to contribute to the high-level roundtable discussion on “The Political Imperative: Protecting Nature for Peace, Security and Development,” the organization said in a statement.

«ՄԱԶԾ ադմինիստրատորի առաջին տեղակալը կմասնակցի COP17-ի առաջնորդների գագաթնաժողովին և ակնկալվում է, որ իր ներդրումը կունենա «Քաղաքական հրամայականը. բնության պաշտպանությունը հանուն խաղաղության, անվտանգության և զարգացման» խորագրով բարձր մակարդակի կլոր սեղան-քննարկմանը»,– նշված է կառույցի տարածած հաղորդագրության մեջ։
