65-year-old taxi driver arrested in Yerevan on suspicion of violent acts

, the Yerevan City Department of the Criminal Police Main Department of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs received information that a 20-year-old woman had traveled to Yerevan from Armavir region in an unknown make of car, but the driver of the said car made lewd offers and “grabbed” her on the way.

As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the 20-year-old woman told the officers of the Yerevan City Criminal Department that on the same day, at around 1:00

Then, upon reaching Mashtots Avenue, the driver committed sexual violence against her, after which he parked in France Square, and she got out of the car.

Դեպքի փաստով Երևան քաղաքի քրեական վարչությունում կազմվել են փաստաթղթեր, որոնք ձերբակալվածի հետ միասին ներկայացվել են ՀՀ քննչական կոմիտեի Երևան քաղաքի քննչական վարչության Կենտրոն և Նորք-Մարաշ վարչական շրջանների քննչական բաժին, որտեղ ՀՀ քրեական օրենսգրքի 198-րդ հոդվածի 2-րդ մասի հատկանիշներով նախաձեռնվել է քրեական

Documents were drawn up in the Yerevan City Criminal Department on the facts of the incident, which, together with the arrested person, were submitted to the Investigative Department of the Yerevan City Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia for the Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts, where criminal proceedings were initiated under Part 2 of Article 198 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
