Georgia extends gas supply agreement with Azerbaijan for 20 years

The Georgian Ministry of Economy announced that following the conclusion of intergovernmental negotiations, the contract for the supply of natural gas from Azerbaijan to Georgia has been extended for 20 years. The gas purchase and sale agreement has been in effect since 2003 and was due to expire in 2026.

Վրաստանի էկոնոմիկայի նախարարությունը հայտնել է, որ միջկառավարական բանակցությունների ավարտից հետո Ադրբեջանից Վրաստան բնական գազի մատակարարման պայմանագիրը երկարաձգվել է 20 տարով։ Գազի առքուվաճառքի համաձայնագիրը գործում է 2003 թվականից, իսկ դրա ժամկետը լրանում էր 2026 թվականին:

Why is it important? The entire volume of gas envisaged by the agreement will be directed to meeting the needs of the Georgian domestic market, ensuring uninterrupted and stable supplies to the country’s gas sector.

Details of the Baku-Supsa pipeline and the deal with SOCAR.

Բաքու-Սուփսա խողովակաշարի և SOCAR-ի հետ գործարքի մանրամասները.

Operating agreement. The intergovernmental agreement also provides for the conclusion of an operating agreement with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, SOCAR Midstream Operation LLC.

Գործառնական համաձայնագիր. Միջկառավարական համաձայնագիրը նախատեսում է նաև գործառնական պայմանագրի կնքում Ադրբեջանի պետական նավթային ընկերության «SOCAR Midstream Operation» ՍՊԸ-ի հետ։

Operation of the pipeline. The document establishes the terms of transit, maintenance and operation of the Georgian section of the Baku-Supsa oil pipeline, the Baku-Tbilisi-Supsa pipeline, as well as the Supsa terminal.

Նավթամուղի շահագործում. Փաստաթղթով սահմանվում են Բաքու-Սուփսա նավթամուղի վրացական հատվածի, Բաքու-Թբիլիսի-Սուփսա խողովակաշարի, ինչպես նաև Սուփսայի տերմինալի տարանցման, տեխնիկական սպասարկման և շահագործման պայմանները։
