A story about people, goals and trust: a 30-year journey

At Vardanants 13A, only two offices were rented, there was one computer, one printer, a few chairs and a table. However, for a few young people full of great ideas and confidence, this was quite enough to create the history of one of the leaders of the Armenian banking system. Thus began the journey of ACBA Bank.

Վարդանանց 13Ա հասցեում վարձակալվել էր ընդամենը երկու աշխատասենյակ, կար մեկ համակարգիչ, մեկ տպիչ, մի քանի աթոռ ու սեղան։ Սակայն մեծ գաղափարով ու վստահությամբ լեցուն մի քանի երիտասարդների համար սա լիովին բավարար էր՝ կերտելու Հայաստանի բանկային համակարգի առաջատարներից մեկի պատմություն։ Այդպես մեկնարկեց Ակբա բանկի ճանապարհը։

In the mid-1990s, when serious challenges and problems existed in all sectors of the newly independent Armenian economy, it was possible to obtain 2 million ECU from the EU TACIS program for the charter capital of the newly established bank.

1990-ականների կեսերին, երբ նորանկախ Հայաստանի տնտեսության բոլոր ոլորտներում առկա էին լուրջ մարտահրավերներ ու խնդիրներ, հաջողվեց նորաստեղծ բանկի կանոնադրական կապիտալի համար Եվրամիության TACIS ծրագրից ստանալ 2 մլն էքյու։

Starting from this stage, the young team of the bank began working with villagers, creating a banking model based on mutual assistance.

Այս փուլից սկսած բանկի երիտասարդ թիմը սկսեց աշխատել գյուղացիների հետ՝ ստեղծելով փոխօգնության վրա հիմնված բանկային մոդել։

Years later, ACBA, in addition to agriculture, began to finance various sectors of the economy, contributing to the development of Armenia.

Տարիներ անց, Ակբան բացի գյուղատնտեսությունից, սկսեց ֆինանսավորել տնտեսության տարբեր ոլորտներ՝ նպաստելով Հայաստանի զարգացմանը։

At the core of Acba’s development path has always been trust, from employees to customers, partners and shareholders. As a result of this trust, further partnerships, from the French banking group Credit Agricole to the leading European asset manager Amundi, have been of significant importance for Acba’s development.

Ակբայի զարգացման ճանապարհի առանցքում միշտ եղել է վստահությունը՝ սկսած աշխատակիցներից մինչև հաճախորդներ, գործընկերներ ու բաժնետերեր։ Այս վստահության արդյունքում հետագա համագործակցությունները՝ ֆրանսիական Կրեդիտ Ագրիկոլ բանկային խմբից մինչև Եվրոպայի ակտիվների առաջատար կառավարիչ Ամունդի, զգալի նշանակություն ունեցան Ակբայի զարգացման համար։

Over the past three decades, Acba has changed: the scale of the bank has increased, technologies and services have developed, and customer requirements have changed. Today, Acba has grown from a few young employees to about 1,900 employees, the bank’s acba digital system has more than 750,000 users, and about 90% of customer transactions are carried out through the bank’s digital channels.

Երեք տասնամյակների ընթացքում Ակբան փոխվել է. մեծացել են բանկի մասշտաբները, զարգացել են տեխնոլոգիաներն ու ծառայությունները, փոխվել են հաճախորդների պահանջները։ Այսօր Ակբան մի քանի երիտասարդ աշխատակցից հասել է շուրջ 1900 աշխատակցի, բանկի acba digital համակարգն ունի ավելի քան 750 հազար օգտատեր, իսկ հաճախորդների գործարքների շուրջ 90%-ն իրականացվում է բանկի թվային ուղիներով։

In parallel with all this, Acba continuously invests in the development of Armenian communities, education, culture and the environment.

Այս ամենին զուգահեռ, Ակբան անընդմեջ ներդրումներ է կատարում Հայաստանի համայնքների, կրթության, մշակույթի և շրջակա միջավայրի զարգացման համար։

Acba is about people who started with two rooms 30 years ago, about those who joined the path, and those who continue that story today.

Ակբան մարդկանց մասին է, ովքեր 30 տարի առաջ սկսեցին երկու սենյակից, նրանց մասին, ովքեր միացան ճանապարհին, և նրանց, ովքեր այսօր շարունակում են այդ պատմությունը։

After 30 years, Akba's history continues to be shaped by the same foundation: idea, team and trust.

30 տարի անց Ակբայի պատմությունը շարունակում է ձևավորվել նույն հիմքի վրա՝ գաղափար, թիմ և վստահություն։
