Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II has sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of Independence Day.

Today we celebrate the 35th anniversary of the re-establishment of the independent statehood of Armenia. During these years, our homeland has gone through many trials, but our people have never been discouraged, have never despaired, and have continued the sacred mission of homeland building at the cost of great sacrifices and have served the national awakening with their potential.

Այսօր կը տոնախմբենք հայոց անկախ պետականութեան վերահաստատման 35-րդ տարեդարձը։ Այս տարիներու ընթացքին մեր հայրենիքն անցած է բազում փորձութիւններու միջով, սակայն մեր ժողովուրդը երբեք չի ընկճվել, չի հուսահատվել, մեծ զոհողութիւններու գնով անգամ շարունակած է հայրենաշինութեան սրբազան առաքելութիւնը եւ իր ներուժով ծառայած է ազգային զարթոնքին։

Independence Day today is an invitation for us to re-evaluate the path we have taken and the course of our lives. In the current difficult circumstances, more than ever, it is necessary to be united and remain united around the homeland, so that we can confront internal and external threats.

Անկախութեան տօնն այսօր հրաւէր է մեզ վերարժեւորելու անցած ուղին եւ մեր կեանքի ընթացքը։ Ներկայիս բարդ պայմաններում, առավել քան երբևէ, անհրաժեշտ է լինել միասնական եւ մնալ համախմբուած հայրենիքի շուրջ, որպէսզի կարողանանք դիմագրավել ներքին ու արտաքին սպառնալիքները։

Strengthened by the spirit of the Independence Day holiday, let us build and brighten our country with unremitting dedication and protect the right of our people to a free and secure life on this sacred land with all zeal and responsibility. Let us firmly hold on to the hope, faith and love of Christ, remain faithful to our national-spiritual values and together build a just, law-abiding, and united society for the sake of our secure and bright future.

Անկախութեան տօնական օրուայ խորհրդով զորացած՝ անմնացորդ նուիրումով շենացնենք ու պայծառացնենք մեր երկիրը եւ ամենայն նախանձախնդրութեամբ ու պատասխանատուութեամբ պաշտպանենք մեր ժողովրդի ազատ ու անվտանգ կեանքի իրավունքը այս սրբազան հողի վրայ։ Ամուր պահենք Քրիստոսավանդ յոյսը, հաւատքն ու սերը, հաւատարիմ մնանք ազգային-հոգեւոր մեր արժեքներին եւ միասնաբար կերտենք արդար, օրինահարգ, համերաշխ հասարակութիւն՝ հանուն մեր ապահով ու լուսաւոր ապագայի։

We raise a prayer to God to keep our homeland in peace, guide our people with the wisdom of His Holy Spirit and grant them a prosperous and progressive life. Amen.”
