The representative of the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia participated in the meeting of the Gender Thematic Group

Assistant Human Rights Defender Armen Navasardyan participated in the regular meeting of the Gender Thematic Group “Women’s Political Participation” subgroup under the title “Gender Equality and Inclusive Governance: Institutional Approaches and Innovative Tools” at the United Nations Office in Armenia.

UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia Natia Natsvlishvili and Deputy Minister of Labor and Welfare of the Republic of Armenia Roza Babayan delivered opening remarks.

ինստիտուցիոնալ մոտեցումներ և նորարարական գործիքներ» խորագրով Գենդերային թեմատիկ խմբի «Կանանց քաղաքական մասնակցություն» ենթախմբի հերթական հանդիպմանը: Բացման խոսքերով հանդես են եկել Հայաստանում ՄԱԶԾ մշտական ներկայացուցիչ Նաթիա Նացվլիշվիլին և ՀՀ աշխատանքի և բարեկեցության նախարարի տեղակալ Ռոզա Բաբայանը: ՄԻՊ-ի գրասենյակի տարածած հաղորդագրության մեջ նշվում է, որ հանդիպման նպատակն էր ներկայացնել և մասնակիցների հետ քննարկել գենդերային հավասարության և ներառական կառավարման գործնական ու ինստիտուցիոնալ մոտեցումները, ինչպես նաև թեմատիկ հետազոտությունների արդյունքները։

The press release issued by the Office of the Human Rights Defender states that the aim of the meeting was to present and discuss with the participants practical and institutional approaches to gender equality and inclusive governance, as well as the results of thematic research.

Armen Navasardyan delivered a presentation entitled “Institutional Transformation in Practice: The Experience of Introducing the UNDP Gender Equality Award in the Human Rights Defender’s Staff”.

Մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանի աշխատակազմում ՄԱԶԾ Գենդերային հավասարության պարգևադրոշմի ներդրման փորձը» խորագրով ներկայացմամբ: Վերջինիս շրջանակում անդրադարձ է կատարվել պետական հաստատությունների համար Գենդերային հավասարության պարգևադրոշմի (ԳՀՊ) ներդրման կարևորությանը։

Within the framework of the latter, the importance of introducing the Gender Equality Award (GEA) for state institutions was discussed.

Նշվել է, որ ՀՀ ՄԻՊ հաստատությունը աշխարհում առաջին Մարդու իրավունքների ազգային հաստատությունն է, որն սկսել է ԳՀՊ ներդրման գործընթացը: Ի թիվս այլնի՝ Արմեն Նավասարդյանը ներկայացրել է ԳՀՊ ներդրման գործընթացի շրջանակներում իրականացվող աշխատանքները, ռազմավարական ուղղությունները՝ ընդգծելով ՀՀ ՄԻՊ հաստատության գենդերազգայնության ապահովման՝ որպես կարևոր առաջնահերթության հանգամանքը, և այս համատեքստում ՄԻՊ հաստատության Գենդերային հավասարության հարցերով հանձնաժողովի համար անցկացված վերապատրաստման դասընթացները, աշխատաժողովները և հանդիպում-քննարկումները

It was noted that the RA Human Rights Defender Institution is the first national human rights institution in the world to have started the process of introducing the GEA.

Among other things, Armen Navasardyan presented the work carried out within the framework of the GEA introduction process, the strategic directions, emphasizing the importance of ensuring the gender equality of the RA Human Rights Defender Institution as an important priority, and in this context, the training courses, workshops and meetings-discussions held for the Commission on Gender Equality of the RA Human Rights Defender Institution.
