Edgar Ghazarian's verdict: The court sentenced him to two years in prison, with a decision not to enforce the sentence temporarily

During the trial, Prosecutor Hayk Avedian had requested that Ghazarian be sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison, as well as to be deprived of the right to engage in public activity for a period of three years. He also demanded that the preventive measure be maintained until the final judgment comes into force.

Դատավարութեան ընթացքին դատախազ Հայկ Աւետեան միջնորդած էր Ղազարեանին դատապարտել 2 տարի 6 ամիս ազատազրկման, ինչպէս նաեւ երեք տարի ժամկէտով զրկել հանրային գործունէութեամբ զբաղելու իրաւունքէն։ Ան նաեւ պահանջած էր խափանման միջոցը պահպանել մինչեւ դատական ակտի վերջնական ուժի մէջ մտնելը։

According to the assessment of Defense Ruben Melikyan, the punishment proposed by the Prosecutor’s Office is too severe, and the application of such punishments can be perceived as an attempt to isolate political opponents.

The defense has announced that it will appeal the court’s verdict.
