Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared, during his address to the United Nations General Assembly in New York, that Turkey had become the latest country to transform itself into a major hotbed of antisemitic lies. “Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is a tyrant who also harbors Hamas terrorist leaders.”
“He has murdered thousands of Kurdish civilians. He denies the Armenian genocide. He imprisons journalists and opposition leaders. In fact, I believe he holds the world record in this regard, and that’s quite a statement.”
“But I think he’s the worst. He illegally occupies Northern Cyprus, an EU member state, and he regularly violates the rights of Greece, a NATO member state. Now he wants to take over Syria.”
“This is not surprising, since he calls for the destruction of Israel almost daily. He claims he wants to rule Jerusalem. No, sir.” “You will not succeed. This is our country, our city, our eternal capital,” Netanyahu added.
