ADB offers new financial instruments for Armenia's water projects

The modernization of wastewater treatment plants in the Sevan basin and the construction of new reservoirs were discussed.

«Ջրային կոմիտեում տեղի է ունեցել հանդիպում Ասիական զարգացման բանկի (ԱԶԲ) ներկայացուցչական առաքելության հետ՝ ջրային ոլորտում ընթացիկ համագործակցության և նոր ծրագրերի իրականացման հնարավորությունների քննարկման նպատակով։

At the meeting, the ADB delegation presented the latest changes in the technical assistance policy provided by the Bank, available financial instruments and new support mechanisms, including cost-reimbursed technical assistance and the Project Support Lending, a new project support instrument approved this summer.

Հանդիպմանը ԱԶԲ պատվիրակությունը ներկայացրել է Բանկի կողմից տրամադրվող տեխնիկական աջակցության քաղաքականության վերջին փոփոխությունները, հասանելի ֆինանսական գործիքներն ու աջակցության նոր մեխանիզմները, այդ թվում՝ ծախսերի փոխհատուցմամբ տեխնիկական աջակցությունը և այս ամռանը հաստատված Project Support Lending՝ ծրագրերի աջակցման նոր գործիքը։

The possibilities of using the above-mentioned new tools in the context of the preparation and implementation of priority water sector projects in Armenia were discussed. In particular, reference was made to the modernization of wastewater treatment plants in the cities of Gavar, Martuni and Vardenis in the Sevan basin, wastewater collection and disposal systems in adjacent rural settlements, as well as the construction of new reservoirs in Getik, Karmirgyugh, Garnahovit and Yeghvard.

Քննարկվել են վերոնշյալ նոր գործիքների կիրառման հնարավորությունները Հայաստանի ջրային ոլորտի առաջնահերթ ծրագրերի նախապատրաստման և իրականացման համատեքստում։ Մասնավորապես, անդրադարձ է կատարվել Սևանի ավազանի՝ Գավառ, Մարտունի և Վարդենիս քաղաքների կեղտաջրերի մաքրման կայանների արդիականացման, հարակից գյուղական բնակավայրերի կեղտաջրերի հավաքման և հեռացման համակարգերի, ինչպես նաև Գետիկի, Կարմիրգյուղի, Գառնահովիտի և Եղվարդի նոր ջրամբարների կառուցման ծրագրերին։

Aramazd Ghalamkaryan, Chairman of the Water Committee, highlighted the ADB’s flexible approaches and the multifaceted cooperation established with the Bank, emphasizing the strategic importance of the joint programs of the Water Committee and ADB aimed at the modernization of the water infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia.

Ջրային կոմիտեի նախագահ Արամազդ Ղալամքարյանը կարևորել է ԱԶԲ-ի ճկուն մոտեցումները եւ Բանկի հետ ձևավորված բազմաբովանդակ համագործակցությունը՝ ընդգծելով Հայաստանի Հանրապետության ջրային ենթակառուցվածքների արդիականացմանն ուղղված՝ Ջրային կոմիտեի և ԱԶԲ-ի համատեղ ծրագրերի ռազմավարական կարևորությունը։

ADB representatives noted that the new tools developed by the Bank can be used at the stages of feasibility studies, detailed design, site studies, as well as ensuring the requirements of environmental and social guarantees, contributing to the preparation of high-quality programs in accordance with international standards, ”the Water Committee said in a statement.

ԱԶԲ ներկայացուցիչները նշել են, որ Բանկի մշակած նոր գործիքները կարող են կիրառվել ծրագրերի տեխնիկատնտեսական հիմնավորման, մանրամասն նախագծման, տեղանքի ուսումնասիրությունների, ինչպես նաև բնապահպանական և սոցիալական երաշխիքների պահանջների ապահովման փուլերում՝ նպաստելով ծրագրերի որակյալ և միջազգային չափանիշներին համապատասխան նախապատրաստմանը»,- ասված է Ջրային կոմիտեի տարածած հաղորդագրությունում։
