The Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Thessaloniki

On Sunday, September 13, 2026, in the Church of the Holy Mother of God in Thessaloniki, the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross was celebrated with spiritual joy and solemnity. In the morning, a Holy and Immortal Liturgy was celebrated, dedicated to the glorious feast of the Holy Cross. The Liturgy was celebrated and the spiritual pastor of our region, Rev. Yeghia Malkhasian, preached on the mystery of the day. The members of the faithful of our community were present at the Holy Liturgy, who gathered under the sacred arches of the church to celebrate the mystery of the Exaltation and Glorification of the Holy Cross with united prayer and testimony of Christian faith. At the end of the liturgy, the blessing of basil, which is part of our church tradition, took place, followed by the Andastana, during which prayers were raised to God, asking for His blessing, peace and protection for our people, homeland and the whole world. The faithful, renewed by the mystery of the Holy Cross, took part in this beautiful spiritual ceremony, experiencing the blessed atmosphere of the festive day and becoming partakers of our sacred traditions. May the Holy Cross always be the sign of the faith, hope and salvation of our people and protect and guide our community with its blessing. At the end of the ceremony, a modest reception was held by the district council and the women's body of our church.

Ե­ղիա վրդ. ­Մալ­խա­սեան: ­Սուրբ ­Պա­տա­րա­գին ներ­կայ գտնո­ւե­ցան մեր հա­մայն­քի հա­ւա­տա­ցեալ ժո­ղո­վուր­դի ան­դամ­նե­րը, ո­րոնք հա­մախմ­բո­ւե­ցան ե­կե­ղեց­ւոյ սրբա­զան կա­մար­նե­րուն ներ­քեւ՝ միաս­նա­կան ա­ղօթ­քով եւ քրիս­տո­նէա­կան հա­ւատ­քի վկա­յու­թեամբ նշե­լու Ս. ­Խա­չի վե­րաց­ման եւ փա­ռա­ւոր­ման խոր­հուր­դը։ ­Պա­տա­րա­գի ա­ւար­տին տե­ղի ու­նե­ցաւ մեր ե­կե­ղե­ցա­կան ա­ւան­դու­թեան մաս կազ­մող ռե­հա­նի օրհ­նու­թիւ­նը, ա­պա՝ ան­դաս­տան, ո­րուն ըն­թաց­քին ա­ղօթք­ներ բարձ­րա­ցան առ Աս­տո­ւած՝ հայ­ցե­լով ա­նոր օրհ­նու­թիւ­նը, խա­ղա­ղու­թիւ­նը եւ պահ­պա­նու­թիւ­նը մեր ժո­ղո­վուր­դին, հայ­րե­նի­քին ու հա­մայն աշ­խար­հին։ ­Հա­ւա­տա­ցեալ­նե­րը, ­Սուրբ ­Խա­չի խոր­հուր­դով վե­րա­նո­րո­գո­ւած, ի­րենց մաս­նակ­ցու­թիւ­նը բե­րին այս գե­ղե­ցիկ հո­գե­ւոր ա­րա­րո­ղու­թեան՝ ապ­րե­լով տօ­նա­կան օ­րո­ւան օրհ­նա­բեր մթնո­լոր­տը եւ հա­ղոր­դա­կից դառ­նա­լով մեր սրբա­զան ա­ւան­դու­թիւն­նե­րուն։ ­Թող ­Սուրբ ­Խա­չը միշտ ըլ­լայ մեր ժո­ղո­վուր­դի հա­ւատ­քի, յոյ­սի եւ փրկու­թեան նշա­նը եւ իր օրհ­նու­թեամբ պա­հէ ու ա­ռաջ­նոր­դէ մեր հա­մայն­քը։ Ա­րա­րո­ղու­թեան ա­ւար­տին ե­կե­ղեց­ւոյս թա­ղա­յին խոր­հուր­դին եւ տիկ­նանց մար­մի­նին կող­մէ տե­ղի ու­նե­ցաւ հա­մեստ հիւ­րա­սի­րու­թիւն:
