The Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia has filed charges against Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II and five senior clergymen of the Armenian Apostolic Church. The first hearing in the case was held last week. The Armenian Patriarchate of Turkey announced that it stands in solidarity with Catholicos Karekin II and the clergymen on trial and criticized the bringing of the matter before civil courts.
