The Armenian government has extended the deadlines of two social assistance programs for people forcibly displaced from Karabakh, with payments continuing into 2027. Under the first program, eligible beneficiaries will continue receiving financial assistance through June 2027. The monthly payment will amount to AMD 30,000 from January through March 2027 and AMD 15,000 from April through June 2027. As of October 2026, approximately 46,000 people were benefiting from the program. Eligible groups include people with first- or second-degree disabilities or profound or severe functional limitations; individuals aged 63 and older; people receiving survivor benefits or pensions following the loss of a breadwinner; students aged 18 and older enrolled in general education, vocational or secondary vocational institutions; and children under 18. The government has also extended the program providing additional emergency assistance to vulnerable families displaced from Karabakh. Beneficiaries will continue receiving AMD 40,000 plus an additional AMD 10,000 through December 2027. In October 2026, approximately 8,600 families received assistance under this program. The program targets families whose average monthly income per member is below AMD 55,000. This figure is calculated by dividing the family’s total monthly income by the number of its members. People displaced from Karabakh may also benefit from other existing social assistance programs and measures, provided they meet the eligibility requirements.
