Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today that, “according to a report on the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), member states do not have the right to expel any country from the organization.” Such a possibility exists within the CSTO. Given that the EAEU and CSTO member states are essentially the same, it is interesting to ask why Armenia is not being expelled from the CSTO, he said during a briefing with journalists following the cabinet meeting. Pashinyan noted that the restrictions previously imposed on Armenia had failed to produce the expected results, either economically or politically: There is no economic component to this issue; it is a political one. The objective is to incite internal political instability in Armenia and establish control over the Armenian state to deprive Armenia of its independence, both de facto and de jure. I am confident that the Armenian state is sufficiently resilient and will overcome this situation as well. According to Pashinyan, Armenia s our primary focus is the continuous development of the Republic of Armenia and the protection of our independence and sovereignty; we will follow this path.
