We need a clear status: Discussion on the problems of the people of Artsakh in the National Assembly

This was announced by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Armen Ghazaryan during a working discussion initiated by the “Civil Contract” faction on the issues of displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh.

ՀՀ քաղաքացիություն ստանալու համար ԼՂ–ից բռնի տեղահանվածների կողմից այս պահին ստացվել է 53 099 դիմում թե՛ չափահասների, թե՛ անչափահասների մասով։

According to him, 45,098 people have already received RA citizenship, of which 38,695 are adults and 14,344 are minors.

This trend has increased within the framework of the introduction of the state housing assistance program, when the condition for obtaining RA citizenship was established.

Anastas Israelyan, the president of the “Reviving Artsakh” NGO, who represented the problems and interests of the people of Artsakh, noted that today tens of thousands of people face numerous problems when using state assistance programs aimed at housing and social issues.

“Especially as a result of the recent price increases, the Armenians of Artsakh have faced a more complex problem, since it is not possible to purchase a house today with certificates,” he noted.

According to Israelyan, most of the people of Artsakh are also interested in the property they left behind in Artsakh.

In the following days, the Armenian population of Artsakh was forcibly deported to Armenia.

According to the Migration and Citizenship Service of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, 115,365 people have been forcibly deported from Artsakh to Armenia since September 2023.
