UN: Guterres deeply concerned about escalation of military tensions in Yemen

According to IRNA, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric added to reporters yesterday local time: The Secretary-General strongly condemns the continued attacks on Saudi Arabia, especially on its infrastructure, including airports.

به گزارش ایرنا، استفان دوجاریک سخنگوی سازمان ملل روز گذشته به وقت محلی در جمع خبرنگاران افزود: دبیرکل حملات مداوم به عربستان سعودی به‌ویژه به زیرساخت‌های این کشور از جمله فرودگاه‌ها را به‌شدت محکوم می‌کند.

The UN spokesman stressed: Attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure are a violation of international law and these attacks must stop.

سخنگوی سازمان ملل متحد تصریح کرد: حمله به غیرنظامیان و زیرساخت‌های غیرنظامی نقض قوانین بین‌المللی است و این حملات باید متوقف شوند.

Dujarric added: The Secretary-General calls on all parties to abide by their obligations under international humanitarian law, to refrain from targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure, and to always be vigilant in protecting civilian lives and ensuring the safety of civilian objects and property.

دوجاریک افزود: دبیرکل از همه طرف‌ها می‌خواهد تا به تعهدات خود بر اساس حقوق بشردوستانه بین‌المللی پایبند باشند، از هدف قرار دادن غیرنظامیان و زیرساخت‌های غیرنظامی خودداری کنند و همواره مراقب حفظ جان غیرنظامیان و همچنین مصون ماندن اماکن و اموال غیرنظامی باشند.

He added: “In the humanitarian context in Yemen, our colleagues in the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) warn that the ongoing conflict and widespread displacement have exacerbated humanitarian needs, particularly in Taiz governorate, where access restrictions and disruptions to basic services have put civilians at greater risk than ever before.”

وی اضافه کرد: در حوزه بشردوستانه در یمن، همکاران ما در دفتر هماهنگی امور بشردوستانه سازمان ملل متحد (OCHA) هشدار می‌دهند که ادامه درگیری‌ها و آوارگی گسترده، نیازهای بشردوستانه را تشدید کرده است؛ به‌ویژه در استان تعز که محدودیت‌های دسترسی و اختلال در خدمات اساسی، غیرنظامیان را بیش از پیش در معرض خطر قرار داده است.

The UN spokesperson said: “To date, we and our humanitarian partners have been able to provide emergency assistance to some 143,000 people.
