The Ministry of Environment and Rural Development and the UNDP deepen cooperation: a memorandum of understanding has been signed

The Memorandum was ratified by the Minister of High-Tech Industry and Artificial Intelligence David Tadevosyan and the Permanent Representative of the UNDP Armenia Office in Armenia Natia Natsvlishvili.

Minister David Tadevosyan welcomed the attendees and emphasized the importance of the Memorandum, noting that effective cooperation has already been established between the parties. In this context, the Minister highlighted the Mass Education Program, launched on the initiative of the ministry in 2023 and continuing this year for the first time in partnership with the UNDP, as an example of successful cooperation.

Ներկաներին ողջունել և հուշագրի կարևորությունն է ընդգծել նախարար Դավիթ Թադևոսյանը՝ նշելով, որ կողմերի միջև արդեն իսկ արդյունավետ համագործակցություն է ձևավորվել։ Այս համատեքստում նախարարն առանձնացրել է 2023 թվականից նախարարության նախաձեռնությամբ մեկնարկած, իսկ այս տարի առաջին անգամ ՄԱԿ-ի զարգացման ծրագրի հետ գործընկերությամբ շարունակվող Մասսայական ուսուցում ծրագիրը՝ որպես հաջողված համագործակցության օրինակ։

The main goal of the program is to provide mass education, especially in those settlements where the development of digital skills is important and key. This program is aimed at developing knowledge and skills in the areas of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and general digital literacy.

Ծրագրի հիմնական նպատակն է ապահովել մասսայական կրթություն հատկապես այն բնակավայրերում, որտեղ թվային հմտությունների զարգացումը կարևոր և առանցքային նշանակություն ունի։ Այս ծրագիրն ուղղված է արհեստական բանականության, կիբեռանվտանգության, ընդհանուր թվային գրագիտության ուղղություններով գիտելիքների ու հմտությունների զարգացմանը։

The anchor of our cooperation is the NEST: National Ecosystem of Skills and Technologies initiative, within the framework of which the complex measures implemented are an indicator of a comprehensive approach to the implementation of our primary goal, - the Minister noted.

Մեր համագործակցության խարիսխը NEST․ հմտությունների և տեխնոլոգիաների ազգային էկոհամակարգ նախաձեռնությունն է, որի շրջանակներում իրականացվող համալիր միջոցառումները մեր գերակա նպատակի իրագործման հանդեպ համակողմանի մոտեցման ցուցանիշ են,- նշել է նախարարը:

Natia Natsvlishvili highlighted the cooperation between UNDP and the Ministry, emphasizing the common belief that digital technologies and artificial intelligence will play a decisive role in the development of Armenia in the coming decades.

Նաթիա Նացվլիշվիլին կարևորել է ՄԱԶԾ-ի և նախարարության համագործակցությունը՝ ընդգծելով՝ ընդհանուր համոզմունքը, որ թվային տեխնոլոգիաներն ու արհեստական բանականությունը առաջիկա տասնամյակների ընթացքում որոշիչ դեր են ունենալու Հայաստանի զարգացման գործում։

Together with the Ministry, we have set a highly ambitious and at the same time realistic goal: to support the development of the technological and AI governance sector, strengthen digital and AI literacy among all groups of society, promote innovation and technology transfer, support digital entrepreneurship, and create opportunities for citizens throughout Armenia to confidently participate in the digital economy, - noted Natia Natsvlishvili, emphasizing that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding is not the end of the process, but the beginning of a long-term partnership.

Նախարարության հետ համատեղ մենք սահմանել ենք խիստ հավակնոտ և միաժամանակ իրատեսական նպատակ՝ աջակցելու տեխնոլոգիական և ԱԲ կառավարման ոլորտի զարգացմանը, ամրապնդելու թվային և ԱԲ գրագիտությունը հասարակության բոլոր խմբերի շրջանում, խթանելու նորարարությունն ու տեխնոլոգիաների փոխանցումը, աջակցելու թվային ձեռնարկատիրությանը և Հայաստանի ամբողջ տարածքում քաղաքացիների համար ստեղծելու հնարավորություններ՝ վստահորեն մասնակցելու թվային տնտեսությանը,- նշել է Նաթիա Նացվլիշվիլին՝ շեշտելով՝ փոխըմբռնման հուշագրի ստորագրումը գործընթացի ավարտ չէ, այլ՝ երկարաժամկետ գործընկերության սկիզբ:

The Memorandum envisages cooperation between the parties within the framework of the processes of development, discussion and possible application of the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Concept of the National Policy on AI Literacy and other strategic documents to promote the responsible, effective and safe use of AI.

Հուշագրով նախատեսվում է կողմերի միջև համագործակցություն՝ արհեստական բանականության (ԱԲ) ազգային ռազմավարության, ԱԲ գրագիտության ազգային քաղաքականության հայեցակարգի և այլ ռազմավարական փաստաթղթերի մշակման, քննարկման և հնարավոր կիրառման գործընթացների շրջանակներում՝ նպաստելու ԱԲ-ի պատասխանատու, արդյունավետ և անվտանգ օգտագործմանը։

The parties also plan to cooperate in the development and implementation of policies and practical programs that contribute to the dissemination of digital and AI technologies, technology transfer, the development of innovative ecosystems and the promotion of digital entrepreneurship.

Կողմերը նախատեսում են համագործակցել նաև թվային և ԱԲ տեխնոլոգիաների տարածմանը, տեխնոլոգիաների փոխանցմանը, նորարարական էկոհամակարգերի զարգացմանն ու թվային ձեռնարկատիրության խթանմանը նպաստող քաղաքականությունների և գործնական ծրագրերի մշակման և իրականացման ուղղությամբ։

The cooperation also aims to support the involvement of state bodies in the development and implementation of digital and AI policies.

Համագործակցության շրջանակում նախատեսվում է նաև աջակցել պետական մարմինների ներգրավմանը թվային և ԱԲ ոլորտի քաղաքականությունների մշակման և իրականացման գործընթացներում:

As an important launch of this cooperation, the Artificial Intelligence: Armenia 2026 (AI days 2026) event is planned to be held this November to promote the large-scale, responsible and effective use of AI in Armenia, the statement said.

Որպես այս համագործակցության կարևոր մեկնարկ՝ արդեն այս նոյեմբերին նախատեսվում է անցկացնել Արհեստական բանականություն. Հայաստան 2026 (AI days 2026) միջոցառումը՝ ԱԲ-ի լայնածավալ, պատասխանատու և արդյունավետ կիրառումը Հայաստանում խթանելու համար,- նշված է հաղորդագրությունում։
