The "Cuckoo" train is back: Borjomi-Bakurian railway to open soon

This was announced by Mariam Kvrivishvili, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, at an event dedicated to the Day of the Railway Worker.

According to her, large-scale restoration works on the historic railway are entering their final stage.

“The restoration works are nearing completion.

The design of the wagons specially selected for this project harmoniously combines with the environment and history of Bakuriani.

We wanted this to be not only a renovated train, but also to preserve the atmosphere and spirit that has accompanied this route for decades,” Kvrivishvili emphasized.
