March 1: Criminal proceedings against former commander of the RA Police Forces sent to court

ԵՐԵՎԱՆ, 9 հոկտեմբերի – Sputnik.

The Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia has handed over the criminal proceedings against Grigor Grigoryan, the former commander of the RA Police Forces, accused in the March 1, 2008 case, to the Yerevan City Criminal Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction.

Ավելի վաղ հայտնել էինք, որ Գրիգորյանին մեղադրանք է առաջադրվել 2008 թվականի մարտի 1-ի իրադարձությունների գործով: Ըստ մեղադրանքի՝ նա հրամայել է ցուցարարների ուղղությամբ արձակել «Չերյոմուխա-7» տեսակի հատուկ միջոցի նռնակներ:Արդյունքում ցույցի մասնակիցներից 3 անձ մահացել է, 2 անձի առողջությանը պատճառվել է ծանր, իսկ մեկ անձի առողջությանը՝ միջին ծանրության վնաս:Նշենք, որ 2024 թվականի հուլիսի 22-ին ՀՀ Սահմանադրական դատարանը որոշում կայացրեց մասնակի բավարարել Վճռաբեկ դատարանի դիմումը, որը վերաբերում էր «Մարտի 1»-ի գործով անցնող ՀՀ 2–րդ նախագահ Ռոբերտ Քոչարյանին, Արմեն Գևորգյանին, Սեյրան Օհանյանին և Յուրի Խաչատուրովին առաջադրված մեղադրանքներին: ՍԴ որոշմամբ հնարավորություն ստեղծվեց վերանայել/վերաորակավորել նրանց առաջադրված մեղադրանքները (1998 թ.

On the night of March 1, police forces conducted operational-investigation operations in Freedom Square to “check the area” and removed thousands of protesters from the square.

On the evening of March 1, units of the Armed Forces and police carried out special operations in the central streets of Yerevan to disperse the protesters with the help of weapons, explosive devices, and special means.

Hundreds of people were injured, 8 civilians and 2 police officers died.
