The 3rd International Conference entitled “Transforming Economy: Green Transformation, Institutional Quality and Value Creation” has launched at the Faculty of Economics and Management of Yerevan State University. The event was organized within the framework of cooperation between the Faculty of Economics and Management of YSU and the Regional Science Academy.

Երևանի պետական համալսարանի տնտեսագիտության և կառավարման ֆակուլտետում մեկնարկել է Փոխակերպվող տնտեսություն. կանաչ վերափոխում, ինստիտուտների որակ և արժեքի ստեղծում խորագրով միջազգային 3-րդ գիտաժողովը: Միջոցառումը կազմակերպվել է ԵՊՀ տնտեսագիտության և կառավարման ֆակուլտետի և Տարածաշրջանային գիտության ակադեմիայի (Regional Science Academy) համագործակցության շրջանակում:

The conference is being held on the eve of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) to be held in Yerevan, amid growing international attention to environmental and sustainable development issues in the region.

Գիտաժողովը անցկացվում է Երևանում կայանալիք ՄԱԿ-ի Կենսաբազմազանության մասին կոնվենցիայի կողմերի 17-րդ համաժողովի (COP17) նախաշեմին՝ տարածաշրջանում շրջակա միջավայրի և կայուն զարգացման հարցերի նկատմամբ միջազգային ուշադրության աճի պայմաններում:

The goal of the conference is to create a platform for presenting innovative research results, conducting academic discussions and exchanging experience. The conference also aims to promote cooperation between researchers, practitioners and policymakers from different scientific and educational institutions around the world.

Գիտաժողովի նպատակն է ստեղծել հարթակ՝ նորարարական հետազոտությունների արդյունքները ներկայացնելու, ակադեմիական քննարկումներ ծավալելու և փորձ փոխանակելու համար։ Գիտաժողովը նաև նպատակ ունի խթանելու համագործակցությունը աշխարհի տարբեր գիտակրթական հաստատությունների հետազոտողների, պրակտիկ մասնագետների և քաղաքականություն մշակողների միջև։

YSU Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs Rafael Barkhudaryan emphasized that such international scientific initiatives are in line with the university’s vision to strengthen its research direction.

ԵՊՀ գիտական հարցերի գծով պրոռեկտոր Ռաֆայել Բարխուդարյանն ընդգծեց, որ նման միջազգային գիտական նախաձեռնությունները համահունչ են համալսարանի՝ հետազոտական ուղղությունն ամրապնդելու տեսլականին։

We consider science and international academic cooperation as key components of our development agenda. Our vision is to strengthen Yerevan State University as a research university, where high-quality education and leading-edge research mutually complement each other, and the knowledge created at the university contributes to a knowledge-based economy and society, he said.

Գիտությունը և միջազգային ակադեմիական համագործակցությունը մենք դիտարկում ենք որպես մեր զարգացման օրակարգի առանցքային բաղադրիչներ։ Մեր տեսլականն է ամրապնդել Երևանի պետական համալսարանը՝ որպես հետազոտական համալսարան, որտեղ բարձրորակ կրթությունն ու առաջատար հետազոտությունները փոխադարձաբար լրացնում են միմյանց, իսկ համալսարանում ստեղծված գիտելիքը նպաստում է գիտելիքահենք տնտեսությանն ու հասարակությանը,- ասաց նա։

Touching upon the significance and format of the conference, YSU Faculty of Economics and Management Dean Karlen Khachatryan emphasized that starting in 2024, the faculty’s goal is to make Yerevan a platform for regular meetings of scientists and specialists. Our goal is not just to organize an annual conference. We strive to form a platform for international scientific cooperation at the Faculty of Economics and Management of YSU, where representatives of different countries and disciplines can exchange knowledge and experience, initiate new research and joint projects, - noted Karlen Khachatryan.

Անդրադառնալով գիտաժողովի նշանակությանն ու ձևաչափին՝ ԵՊՀ տնտեսագիտության և կառավարման ֆակուլտետի դեկան Կառլեն Խաչատրյանն ընդգծեց, որ 2024 թվականից ֆակուլտետի նպատակն է Երևանը դարձնել գիտնականների և մասնագետների պարբերական հանդիպման հարթակ։ Մեր նպատակը պարզապես ամենամյա գիտաժողով կազմակերպելը չէ։ Մենք ձգտում ենք ԵՊՀ տնտեսագիտության և կառավարման ֆակուլտետում ձևավորելու միջազգային գիտական համագործակցության հարթակ, որտեղ տարբեր երկրների և գիտակարգերի ներկայացուցիչները կարող են փոխանակել գիտելիք և փորձ, նախաձեռնել նոր հետազոտություններ ու համատեղ նախագծեր,- նշեց Կառլեն Խաչատրյանը։

Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia Armen Nurbekyan highlighted the fact that the issues of green transition and institutional quality are no longer just a subject of theoretical discussions. Fifteen or twenty years ago, when we were talking about green transition, institutional quality and similar issues, they were often considered as theoretical problems. Today we clearly see their tangible impact on financial stability, the banking system, the insurance sector and the overall economic position of the country, - he pointed out.

ՀՀ կենտրոնական բանկի նախագահի տեղակալ Արմեն Նուրբեկյանը կարևորեց այն փաստը, որ կանաչ անցման և ինստիտուցիոնալ որակի հարցերն այլևս միայն տեսական քննարկումների առարկա չեն։ Տասնհինգ կամ քսան տարի առաջ, երբ խոսում էինք կանաչ անցման, ինստիտուցիոնալ որակի և նման հարցերի մասին, դրանք հաճախ դիտարկվում էին որպես տեսական խնդիրներ։ Այսօր մենք հստակ տեսնում ենք դրանց շոշափելի ազդեցությունը ֆինանսական կայունության, բանկային համակարգի, ապահովագրական ոլորտի և երկրի ընդհանուր տնտեսական դիրքի վրա,- մատնանշեց նա։

Also delivering speeches were Peter Nykamp, Vice President of the Academy of Regional Sciences, Karen Zakaryan, President of the FINARM Financial Market Participants Association, and John Carruthers, Associate Professor at Cornell University, USA.

Ելույթներով հանդես եկան նաև Տարածաշրջանային գիտության ակադեմիայի փոխնախագահ Պիտեր Նայկամպը, ՖԻՆԱՐՄ ֆինանսական շուկայի մասնակիցների ասոցիացիայի նախագահ Կարեն Զաքարյանը և ԱՄՆ Քորնելի համալսարանի դոցենտ Ջոն Քարութերսը:

About 60 scientists and researchers from more than 24 countries around the world, including the USA, Brazil, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Morocco, Taiwan, South Korea, Russia, India and other countries, have arrived in Armenia to participate in the conference.

Գիտաժողովին մասնակցելու համար Հայաստան են ժամանել շուրջ 60 գիտնականներ և հետազոտողներ աշխարհի ավելի քան 24 երկրներից՝ ԱՄՆ-ից, Բրազիլիայից, Ֆրանսիայից, Իտալիայից, Իսպանիայից, Նիդեռլանդներից, Մարոկկոյից, Թայվանից, Հարավային Կորեայից, Ռուսաստանից, Հնդկաստանից և այլ երկրներից։

During the conference, reports are presented in offline and online formats in five thematic sections. The conference program includes reports by about 150 Armenian and foreign scientists and researchers. They represent 50 universities and research centers. The conference brings together representatives of the Faculty of Economics and Management of Yerevan State University, other universities and research institutions of the Republic of Armenia, as well as specialists from public administration, financial and banking sectors and research organizations. Representatives of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Economy will also make reports.

Գիտաժողովի ընթացքում անցանց և առցանց ձևաչափով ներկայացվում են զեկուցումներ թեմատիկ հինգ բաժանմունքներում: Գիտաժողովի ծրագրում ընդգրկված են մոտ 150 հայ և արտասահմանցի գիտնականների ու հետազոտողների զեկուցումներ։ Նրանք ներկայացնում են 50 համալսարան և հետազոտական կենտրոն։ Գիտաժողովը համախմբում է ԵՊՀ տնտեսագիտության և կառավարման ֆակուլտետի, ՀՀ այլ բուհերի և գիտահետազոտական կառույցների ներկայացուցիչների, ինչպես նաև պետական կառավարման, ֆինանսական և բանկային ոլորտների ու հետազոտական կազմակերպությունների մասնագետների։ Զեկուցումներով հանդես կգան նաև ՀՀ կենտրոնական բանկի և էկոնոմիկայի նախարարության ներկայացուցիչները։

Keynote speakers include Nobel Prize winner Paul Krugman (2008, USA), Professor at the Open University of the Netherlands, Vice President of the Regional Science Academy (TRSA), one of the world's top 30 economists Peter Nykamp (2018), President of the Netherlands University Association and Professor of Public Administration at the University of Groningen Kaspar van den Berg, Executive Director of the Regional Science Academy (TRSA) Karima Kurtit (Netherlands). Speakers include Neil Reid (USA), Abdul Shaban (India), Amit Batabyal (USA), Felix Arion (Romania), Francesca Torieri (Italy) and other renowned experts in the field. The conference will continue until October 9.
