In their October 5 letter to Rubio, the congressmen addressed the sentencing of Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan, the destruction of Armenian cultural heritage, and the presence of Azerbaijani armed forces on Armenian sovereign territory.

They noted that the US administration's waiver of Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act has not resulted in the release of Armenian prisoners from Azerbaijan.

"Clearly, the decision to waive Section 907 has not prompted Azerbaijan to take steps to release prisoners of war," the letter states.
