Mirzoyan: Iran is satisfied with Armenia's transparency on the TRIPP project

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated that the Iranian side is satisfied with the transparency with which Yerevan is presenting details of the TRIPP project.

He added that the Iranian side also sees the willingness of its Armenian partners to discuss all outstanding issues.

По его словам, иранская сторона также видит готовность армянских партнеров обсуждать все имеющиеся вопросы.

Furthermore, Yerevan presented Tehran with the economic benefits of the project.

"I had good meetings with my Iranian colleagues.

Questions were asked and answers were received," Mirzoyan added.

It should be noted that back in September, Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Khalil Shirgolami stated that Tehran was proposing to Yerevan to create a mechanism for exchanging opinions on the TRIPP project, which would address existing concerns.

The diplomat noted that Iran had expressed concern to Armenia about the project, given US President Donald Trump's hostile policies toward the Iranian people.

Дипломат отмечал, что Иран выражал Армении обеспокоенность проектом с учетом враждебной политики президента США Дональда Трампа в отношении иранского народа.

However, he added, existing issues can be resolved in an atmosphere of friendship and good-neighborliness between Yerevan and Tehran.

При этом, по его словам, существующие вопросы можно решить в атмосфере дружбы и добрососедства между Ереваном и Тегераном.
