Aliyev demands information from Armenia regarding missing persons
Yerevan /Mediamax/. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated today that Armenia must provide all information regarding the fate of Azerbaijanis who went missing as a result of the war, as well as the locations of mass and individual graves. Despite the end of the conflict, clarifying the fate of the missing persons remains one of the most important issues for Azerbaijan. The full restoration of sovereignty and territorial integrity by Azerbaijan, as well as the policy pursued by our country, have created a historic opportunity for lasting peace and cooperation in the South Caucasus, the Azerbaijani President stated in an address to participants of the 4th International Conference on Missing Persons, held within the framework of the Baku Dialogue. Ilham Aliyev noted that establishing lasting peace, beyond political agreements, also requires strengthening trust and addressing the humanitarian consequences of the conflict. New opportunities have emerged since the war for the search for missing citizens. Information concerning human lives should not be a subject of political conditions. Armenia must create conditions for opening relevant archives and collecting witness testimonies, he said.
