Armenian, Azerbaijani and international experts discussed developments in the South Caucasus in London.

Armenian Council President Areg Kochinyan, Yerevan Press Club Honorary President Boris Navasardyan, and Azerbaijani and international experts participated in a joint workshop in London last week, organized by International Alert and RUSI-Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies.

Ermeni Konseyi Başkanı Areg Koçinyan, Yerevan Basın Kulübü Onursal Başkanı Boris Navasardyan, Azerbaycanlı ve uluslararası uzmanlarla birlikte geçen hafta Londra’da, International Alert ile RUSI-Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies tarafından düzenlenen ortak çalıştaya katıldı.

According to a statement published on the official social media accounts of the Armenian Council and International Alert, the workshop addressed key political developments and the current situation in the region.

Ermeni Konseyi ve International Alert’in resmi sosyal medya hesaplarında yayımlanan açıklamaya dikkat göre, çalıştayda bölgedeki başlıca siyasi gelişmeler ve mevcut durum ele alındı.

The workshop was organized in cooperation with the Yerevan Press Club and the Baku Press Club as part of International Alert's efforts to promote dialogue and mutual understanding across conflict lines in the South Caucasus.

Çalıştay, International Alert’in Güney Kafkasya’da çatışma hatlarının ötesinde diyaloğu ve karşılıklı anlayışı geliştirmeye yönelik çalışmaları kapsamında, Yerevan Basın Kulübü ve Bakü Basın Kulübü iş birliğiyle düzenlendi.

The discussions assessed opportunities for reducing the risk of conflict, strengthening regional connections, and developing prospects for lasting peace.

Görüşmelerde çatışma risklerinin azaltılması, bölgesel bağlantıların güçlendirilmesi ve kalıcı barış perspektiflerinin geliştirilmesine yönelik olanaklar değerlendirildi.

The statement noted that the South Caucasus is undergoing significant political changes, and that internal political developments, bilateral diplomacy, and broader geopolitical processes are becoming increasingly interconnected.

Açıklamada, Güney Kafkasya’nın önemli siyasi değişimlerden geçtiği ve iç siyasi gelişmeler, ikili diplomasi ile daha geniş jeopolitik süreçlerin giderek daha fazla birbirine bağlandığı belirtildi.

Furthermore, the importance of continuous dialogue among Armenian, Azerbaijani, and international experts was emphasized to ensure a comprehensive understanding of these changes, develop conflict-sensitive approaches, and strengthen mutual trust and understanding.

Ayrıca bu değişimlerin kapsamlı şekilde anlaşılması, çatışmalara duyarlı yaklaşımların geliştirilmesi ve karşılıklı güven ile anlayışın güçlendirilmesi için Ermeni, Azerbaycanlı ve uluslararası uzmanlar arasında sürekli diyaloğun önemine vurgu yapıldı.

The workshop was attended by leading experts from the region, as well as the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Magdalena Grono, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office's Deputy Director-General for Central Asia and the Eastern Neighbourhood, Mark Clayton, and British analysts and policymakers.

Çalıştaya bölgenin önde gelen uzmanlarının yanı sıra AB’nin Güney Kafkasya Özel Temsilcisi Magdalena Grono, Birleşik Krallık Dışişleri, Milletler Topluluğu ve Kalkınma Ofisi’nin Orta Asya ve Doğu Komşuluğu İşlerinden Sorumlu Genel Müdür Yardımcısı Mark Clayton ile İngiliz analistler ve politika yapıcılar katıldı.
