Paintings confiscated from the former head of the Armenian Ministry of Finance were hung in the National Gallery.

Paintings confiscated from former Armenian Finance Minister Gagik Khachatryan have been displayed at the National Gallery, the press service of the RA Investigative Committee reported.

It is noted that 70 paintings confiscated from the former high-ranking official will henceforth be accessible to the public.

Отмечается, что 70 картин, изъятые у бывшего высокопоставленного чиновника, отныне будут доступны общественности.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, and the Prosecutor General visited the National Gallery.

Председатель Следственного комитета, министр образования, науки, культуры и спорта, генеральный прокурор посетили Национальную галерею.

It is noted that the heads of the agencies inspected the exhibition of paintings seized from Khachatryan as part of the criminal case.

Отмечается, что руководители ведомств на месте ознакомились с экспозицией картин, изъятых у Хачатряна в рамках уголовного производства.

The Investigative Committee noted that a total of 70 paintings seized as part of the criminal case were recognized as material evidence by a decision of September 11, 2026, and transferred to the National Gallery for safekeeping.

В СК отметили, что в общей сложности 70 картин, изъятых по уголовному производству, решением от 11 сентября 2026 года были признаны вещественными доказательствами и переданы на хранение в Национальную галерею.

The published photographs show works by Grigor Khanjyan, Gevorg Bashinjaghyan, Vardan Makhokhyan, and other renowned artists among the paintings on display.

As part of the criminal case on bribery and money laundering on an especially large scale, investigators conducted searches at the residence of Khachatryan and his son, as well as the offices and branches of more than 20 companies associated with them.

В рамках уголовного производства о получении взятки и отмывании денег в особо крупных размерах следователи провели обыски по месту жительства Хачатряна и его сына, а также в офисах и филиалах более 20 связанных с ними компаний.

On September 2, a court ordered the 71-year-old Khachatryan to be remanded in custody for two months.

The defense appealed to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), arguing that Khachatryan cannot be held in custody given his grave condition, as confirmed by numerous medical consultations.
