Robert Safarian's book "The History of the Armenians of Iran" has been published

According to the author, the book aims to present the history of the Armenian community of Iran not only within the framework of pan-Armenian history, but also as a part of the history of Iran and Iranian society, taking into account the national, religious, and cultural characteristics of the Armenians.

Հեղինակի նշմամբ գիրքը նպատակ ունի Իրանի հայ համայնքի պատմութիւնը ներկայացնել ոչ միայն համահայկական պատմութեան շրջանակում, այլեւ որպէս Իրանի պատմութեան եւ իրանական հասարակութեան մի մաս, հաշւի առնելով հայերի ազգային, կրօնական եւ մշակութային առանձնայատկութիւնները։

Safarian notes in the book’s preface that until now there has been no complete, or even comprehensive, study of the history of the Armenians of Iran in Persian. He also notes the fact that important episodes in the history of the community in Armenian schools - the migration of Armenians during the reign of Shah Abbas I, the participation of Armenians in the Iranian Constitutional Movement, and the organized immigration to Soviet Armenia after World War II - are essentially absent from textbooks.

Սաֆարեանը գրքի առաջաբանում նշում է, որ մինչ այժմ պարսկերէնով Իրանի հայերի պատմութեան ամբողջական, կամ նոյնիսկ համապարփակ ուսումնասիրութիւն չի եղել։ Նա նաեւ արձանագրում է այն փաստը, որ հայկական դպրոցներում համայնքի պատմութեան կարեւոր դրւագները՝ Շահ Աբբաս Ա-ի օրօք հայերի գաղթը, հայերի մասնակցութիւնն Իրանի Սահմանադրական շարժմանը եւ Երկրորդ աշխարհամարտից յետոյ դէպի Խորհրդային Հայաստան կազմակերպւած ներգաղթն ըստ էութեան, չկան դասագրքերում:

The book was published in October 2026 and is available in bookstores and online.
