How the book "Up and Down with Baghramyan" was born

It all started when I decided years ago to write a column about Baghramyan Avenue, where I have lived my whole life.

սեպտեմբերի սկզբին լույս տեսավ Բաղրամյանով վերեւ-ներքեւ (գիրք խճանկար Երեւանի, կյանքի ու ժամանակի մասին) գիրքս, որը, թվում էր, երբեք ավարտին չեմ հասցնի:Ամեն ինչ սկսվեց նրանից, որ տարիներ առաջ որոշեցի սյունակ գրել Բաղրամյան պողոտայի մասին, որտեղ ապրում եմ ամբողջ կյանքս: Ավելի ճիշտ՝ ոչ թե բուն պողոտայի, այլ այն շենքերի եւ վայրերի մասին, որոնց հետ կապված տարբեր հիշողություններ ունեմ: Դրանք, սակայն, թեեւ սկսվում են Բաղրամյանից, հաճախ դուրս են գալիս Երեւանի եւ Հայաստանի սահմաններից: Երբ հերոսների ցանկն էի կազմում, հասկացա, որ մի սյունակում հնարավոր չէ նրանց տեղավորել.

More precisely, not about the avenue itself, but about the buildings and places with which I have different memories.

However, although they start with Baghramyan, they often go beyond the borders of Yerevan and Armenia.

When I was compiling the list of heroes, I realized that it was impossible to fit them in one column.

Իսկ հետո հասկացա, որ եթե 1994 թվականիի նոյեմբերին այս շենք չգայի, հետագա լրագրողական կարիերաս եւ կյանքս լրիվ այլ ընթացք կունենային։

They had to become a series.

Թերեւս հենց Ակադեմիան է ամենակարեւոր կետն ինձ համար Բաղրամյան փողոցում՝ չհաշված Կլորի հայաթը , որտեղ ծնվել եւ մեծացել եմ: 2021 թվականի մայիսին որոշել էի գիրքը սկսել գրել հունիսին ու այդ ամռանն էլ ավարտել: Երեւանը ամառային քաղաք է, ու կարծում էի, որ ամառային քաղաքի մասին պետք է ամռանը գրել։

The integrity of the essay would suffer if it were so.

Բայց հիմա ամառները, ցավոք, արագ են անցնում, աննկատ, ոչ մեր մանկության ամառների պես, որ ասես մի ողջ կյանք ձգվեին։

Finally, I told myself, this will be a book, and its name is Up and Down with Baghramyan.

Գիրքը սկսելու հաջորդ փորձը 2021 թվականի սեպտեմբերի կեսերին էր: Բաղրամյան պողոտայի գետնին հայտնվում էին կաղինները, որոնցով սիրում եմ առավոտյան քայլելիս ֆուտբոլ խաղալ ։

Ժամանակը գնում էր, կաղինները խրթխրթում էին ոտքերիս տակ, սակայն գիրքը համառորեն ընդդիմանում էր: Ինչեւէ, ամեն բան ունի իր ժամանակը.

And then I realized that if I had not come to this building in November 1994, my future journalistic career and life would have taken a completely different course.

Perhaps the Academy is the most important point for me on Baghramyan Street, not counting Klor Hayat, where I was born and raised.

գուցե այս անգամ նրանք օգնեցին գործն ավարտին հասցնել:Գծանկարի հեղինակ՝ Արարատ ՄինասյանՄի անգամ իմ ընկեր Արամ Մեհրաբյանին բողոքում էի, որ գրքերը շատ ավելի դանդաղ են գրվում, քան ցանկանում եմ: Ժամանակը, երբ գիրքը եփվում է գլխում, եւս ստեղծագործական ընթացք է՝ անտեսանելի արտաքին աշխարհի ու երբեմն նաեւ հեղինակի համար , - ասաց Արամը: Գրքում կհանդիպեք ոչ միայն ձեզ հայտնի տեղանքների եւ շենքերի, այլեւ մարդկանց, որոնցից շատերին գուցե անձնապես գիտեք, շատերին ծանոթ եք հեռուստաէկրաններից, ոմանք էլ ձեզ հետ առաջին անգամ կխոսեն իմ հիշողությունների միջով։

In May 2021, I decided to start writing the book in June and finish it that summer.

Yerevan is a summer city, and I thought that one should write about a summer city in the summer.

But now, unfortunately, summers pass quickly, unnoticed, not like the summers of our childhood, which seemed to last a lifetime.

The next attempt to start the book was in mid-September 2021.

Acorns appeared on the ground of Baghramyan Avenue, with which I like to play football while walking in the morning.

Time passed, the acorns crunched under my feet, but the book stubbornly resisted.

However, everything has its time.

Between April 24 and May 9 of this year, Up and Down Baghramyanov was finally born.

Every May, early in the morning, when I go down Baghramyanov, I see snails.

Maybe this time they helped me finish the job.

The time when the book is brewing in my head is also a creative process, invisible to the outside world and sometimes even to the author, - said Aram.

In the book you will meet not only familiar places and buildings, but also people, many of whom you may know personally, many of whom you are familiar with from TV screens, and some of whom will speak to you for the first time through my memories.
