Pianist Jean-Paul Gasparian on October 9 at the "Gavo" Hall

Performing a piece composed for singers and orchestra on the piano requires a high level of performance skill, as well as imagination. In these adaptations and combinations, melodies are reworked, developed and transformed in order to find their rightful place on the keyboard. In this case, a soloist must reproduce all the sounds and contrasts of the musical original. In the “Cavo” hall, Jean-Paul Gasparian will play Liszt’s arrangements, inspired by the operas “Aida”, “Il trovatore”, “Ricolletto” and “Don Carlos”. The first part of the evening will be devoted to Chopin, including in particular the third Ballade, Waltz No. 64 and the “Eroica” Polonaise.

Երգիչներու եւ նուագախումբի համար յօրինուած ստեղծագործութիւն մը դաշնակով հնչեցնելը երեւակայութեան կողքին կը պահանջէ կատարողական բարձր վարպետութիւն։ Այս փոխադրումներուն եւ համադրումներուն մէջ մեղեդիները կը վերամշակուին, կը զարգանան ու կը կերպարանափոխուին՝ ստեղնաշարին վրայ իրենց ուրոյն տեղը գտնելու համար։ Այս պարագային, մէկ մենակատար ինքնին պէտք է վերարտադրէ երաժշտական բնագրին բոլոր ձայներն ու ելեւէջներու հակադրութիւնները։ «Կաւօ» սրահին մէջ Ժան-Փօլ Գասպարեան պիտի նուագէ Լիսթի մշակումները՝ ներշնչուած «Այտա», «Թրուպատուր» (Il trovatore), «Ռիկոլեթօ» եւ «Տոն Գարլոս» օփերաներէն։ Երեկոյթին առաջին բաժինը պիտի յատկացուի Շոփէնին, մասնաւորապէս ընդգրկելով երրորդ Պալլատը, թիւ 64 վալսերն ու «Հերոսական» փոլոնէզը։

The pianist regularly performs in Yerevan, where he maintains close ties with a number of musical ensembles. In May 2023, he performed Khachaturian’s Piano Concerto there, accompanied by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Sergey Smbatyan. And recently, on March 13 of this year, on the occasion of an evening dedicated to Francophonie, he once again took to the stage of the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall, playing Saint-Saëns’ Second Concerto, this time with the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by Jean-Claude Gazates. Three days later, at the Komitas Seneca Music House, he shared the stage with violinist Anoush Nikoghosian, performing works by Brahms, Clara Schumann, and Prokofiev. These numerous collaborations transform his connection with Armenia into a unified musical experience.

Դաշնակահարը կանոնաւոր կերպով ելոյթներ կ՚ունենայ Երեւանի մէջ, ուր սերտ կապեր կը պահպանէ շարք մը երաժշտական կազմերու հետ։ Մայիս 2023-ին ան հոն կատարեց Խաչատրեանի դաշնակի քոնչերթօն՝ Հայաստանի պետական սիմֆոնիկ նուագախումբին ընկերակցութեամբ, ղեկավարութեամբ Սերգէյ Սմբատեանի։ Իսկ վերջերս՝ տարւոյս Մարտ 13-ին, Ֆրանսախօսութեան նուիրուած երեկոյթի մը առիթով, ան կրկին բարձրացաւ «Արամ Խաչատրեան» համերգասրահի բեմը՝ նուագելով Սէն-Սանսի երկրորդ քոնչերթօն, այս անգամ Հայաստանի ազգային ֆիլհարմոնիք նուագախումբին հետ եւ խմբավարութեամբ Ժան-Գլօտ Գազատեսուսի։ Երեք օր ետք, «Կոմիտաս» Սենեկային երաժշտութեան տան մէջ ան բեմը կիսեց ջութակահարուհի Անուշ Նիկողոսեանի հետ՝ յայտագրին վրայ ունենալով Պրամսի, Գլարա Շումանի եւ Փրոքոֆիեւի ստեղծագործութիւնները։ Այս բազմաթիւ գործակցութիւնները Հայաստանի հետ իր ունեցած կապը կը վերածեն միացեալ երաժշտական կենդանի փորձառութեան մը։

That connection is also reflected in his recordings. The prestigious Diapason d’or award-winning “Origins” album allowed the pianist to bridge several generations of Armenian composers. Among the recorded works were two works by Gerard Gasparian, inspired by the poems of Sayat-Nova, which was a unique way to convey the musical history to which his own family continues to contribute. With the album “A Night at the Opera”, the singing voice continues to be present, this time in a different guise. After the Armenian songs, it is time for the melodies of the lyrical stage, which Jean-Paul Gasparian will play through his instrument.

Այդ կապը իր արտացոլումը կը գտնէ նաեւ անոր ձայնագրութիւններուն մէջ։ Հեղինակաւոր «Diapason d’or» մրցանակին արժանացած «Origins» ձայնասկաւառակը կարելիութիւն ընձեռած էր դաշնակահարին իրարու կամրջելու հայ երգահաններու քանի մը սերունդ։ Արձանագրուած ստեղծագործութիւններու շարքին կային Ժերար Գասպարեանի երկու գործերը՝ ներշնչուած Սայեաթ-Նովայի տաղերէն, ինչ որ իւրայատուկ միջոց մըն էր փոխանցելու երաժշտական այն պատմութիւնը, որուն իր իսկ ընտանիքը կը շարունակէ իր նպաստը բերել։ «A Night at the Opera» ալպոմով երգեցիկ ձայնը կը շարունակէ ներկայ մնալ՝ այս անգամ այլ տարազով։ Հայկական երգերէն ետք, կարգը լիրիկական բեմի մեղեդիներունն է, զորս Ժան-Փօլ Գասպարեան կը հնչեցնէ իր նուագարանին ընդմէջէն։
