Azdak Editorial: For the preservation of sovereignty (on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Armenia's independence)

Independence presupposes a sovereign status, the ability to make independent decisions, inviolable borders, and the implementation of a balanced foreign policy to maintain all of these.

Անկախութիւնը գերիշխան կարգավիճակ կ՛ենթադրէ, ինքնուրոյն որոշում կայացնելու կարողութիւն, անխախտ սահմաններ եւ այդ բոլորի պահպանման համար արտաքին հաւասարակշիռ քաղաքականութեան կիրարկում:

Official Yerevan today wants to perceive independence exclusively as a process of breaking free from the influence of the Russian Federation. However, the problem is not only Russian influence or the phenomenon of dependence on Moscow in various strategic spheres.

Պաշտօնական Երեւանը այսօր անկախութիւնը կ՛ուզէ ընկալել բացառապէս Ռուսիոյ դաշնութեան ազդեցութենէն դուրս գալու գործընթացով: Խնդիրը սակայն միայն ռուսական ազդեցութիւնը չէ կամ տարբեր ռազմավարական ոլորտներու առումով Մոսկուայէն կախեալ ըլլալու երեւոյթը:

The subject of discussion is the question of whether, in the event of the operation of new communication routes in Syunik, all types of commodity turnover passing through Armenian territories, whether by rail or pipeline, will be directed to American companies.

Հարցադրումի ճամբով քննարկումի նիւթ է Սիւնիքի նոր հաղորդուղիներու բանեցման պարագային, հայաստանեան տարածքներով անցնող ամէն տեսակի ապրանքաշրջանառութիւն թէ երկաթուղիով կամ խողովակաշարերու ճամբով արտահանում-ներածումի շահին ուղղորդումը դէպի ամերիկեան ընկերութիւններ:

Sovereignty and independence presuppose sovereign territories. Azerbaijan has invaded Armenian sovereign territory and is not preparing to leave these territories.

Գերիշխանութիւնն ու անկախութիւնը ինքնիշխան տարածքներ կ՛ենթադրեն: Ազրպէյճան ներխուժած է հայաստանեան գերիշխան տարածք եւ չի պատրաստուիր հեռանալու այդ տարածքներէն:

Yerevan is preparing to change the Constitution. Ankara and Baku have long been raising this demand, conditioning the success of the peace process or the signing of agreements on changes to the Constitution. This reality is clearly far from the sovereign right to make independent decisions.

Երեւանը կը նախապատրաստուի փոխել Սահմանադրութիւնը: Այս պահանջը վաղուց կ՛արծարծեն Անգարան եւ Պաքուն, պայմանականացնելով խաղաղութեան գործընթացի յաջողութիւնը կամ համաձայնագիրներու ստորագրումը Սահմանադրութեան փոփոխութեամբ: Ինքնուրոյն որոշում տալու գերիշխան իրաւունքէն հեռու է յայտնապէս այս իրականութիւնը:

Re-independence presupposes a Declaration of Independence. The Constitution, against which the authorities are expressing their opposition to various rights, has referred to it.

Վերանկախացումը կ՛ենթադրէ Անկախութեան հռչակագիր. անոր յղում կատարած է այն Սահմանադրութիւնը, որուն զանազան իրաւադրոյթներուն դէմ կ՛արտայայտուին իշխանութիւնները:

The Declaration of Independence contains such points that the authorities have a plan to unconstitutionalize.

Անկախութեան հռչակագիրը ունի այնպիսի կէտեր, զորս սահմանադրազերծելու ծրագիր ունի իշխանութիւնը:

Independence Day is marked by the invaded territories, the commitments to meet the demands of the Turkish and Azerbaijani sides, and the data of conducting a not necessarily balanced policy between the Moscow-West confrontations.

Անկախութեան օրը կը նշուի ներխուժուած տարածքներով, թուրքեւազրպէյճանական կողմի պահանջներու ընդառաջումներու յանձնառութիւններով եւ Մոսկուա-Արեւմուտք առճակատումներուն միջեւ ոչ անպայման հաւասարակշռուած քաղաքականութիւն վարելու տուեալներով:

Independent statehood is an absolute value, from which any disposition to retreat, especially a step taken, cannot be acceptable by the people who have expressed their will to exist independently.

Անկախ պետականութիւնը բացարձակ արժէք է, որմէ նահանջ կատարելու որեւէ տրամադրութիւն, առաւել եւս առնուող քայլ, ընդունելի չի կրնար ըլլալ անկախօրէն գոյատեւելու կամք արտայայտած ժողովուրդին կողմէ:

Maintaining sovereignty in our case is also conditioned by a state that has mastered the skill of not getting involved in geopolitical confrontations and conducting a balanced foreign policy. In addition to the condition of having the ability to unite the nation in an internal sense.

Գերիշխանութիւնը պահպանելը մեր պարագային պայմանաւորուած է նաեւ աշխարհաքաղաքական ճակատումներուն մէջ չներքաշուելու, հաւասարակշիռ արտաքին քաղաքականութիւն վարելու հմտութեան տիրացած պետութեամբ: Ներազգային առումով ազգը համախմբելու կարողականութիւնը ունենալու պայմանին կողքին:
