Just a few weeks before the elections, the head of the CP community, Khachatur Andreasyan, was unexpectedly arrested, after which the government team was forced to take quick steps and nominate a new candidate, Sergo Galstyan. According to our information, Sergo Galstyan’s nomination was not unequivocally accepted by the Meghri CP community, since in the past the latter had actively participated in the opposition’s campaign, and now the former head of the Meghri community, former opposition MP Mkhitar Zakaryan, is actively campaigning in his favor.
