President General Joseph Aoun of Lebanon paid a visit to His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia on Monday. In a statement, the Catholicoste said that the primary purpose of President Aoun’s visit was to offer his condolences on the passing of the pontiff’s brother, Avetis Keshishian, who recently died in New York. Present at the meeting were Lebanon’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Nora Bairaktarian; Co-chair of the Political Council of the National Central Executive Board, Stepan Der Bedrossian; Chairman of the Lebanese Parliament’s Finance and Budget Committee, Ibrahim Kanaan; Lebanon Prelate, Archbishop Shahe Panossian; and members of the monastic brotherhood.
