Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan, in a message celebrating the 35th anniversary of Armenias independence, stressed that statehood is a continuous responsibility rather than a one-time achievement. He noted that independence, freedom, and sovereignty are irreplaceable values that must be actively defended and strengthened every single day. Acknowledging both achievements and shortcomings, he highlighted the June National Assembly elections as a milestone for democratic growth and political responsibility. He said that as global and regional security dynamics shift, Armenia must adapt its policies and institutions without ever compromising its core statehood. Khachaturyan called on citizens and the global diaspora to work together to pass down a sovereign, democratic, and capable state to future generations.
