We honor the memory of the patriarchs who participated in the First Ecumenical Council

His Holiness Zacharias notes that Saint Aristarchus brought to Armenia the Creed and the Nicene Canons, to which Saint Gregory the Illuminator added new ones regulating the internal life of our Church. Since the 5th century, our chroniclers have emphasized this Ecumenical Council, calling on us to remain faithful to the spirit of the Nicene Fathers.
