The article Doctors heroically fulfilled their duty and saved hundreds of lives was first published in the Armenian Newspaper Vahan.

In those days in 2023, a group of dedicated medical workers and volunteers from various hospitals in Artsakh fought for the lives of people injured to varying degrees as a result of Azerbaijani aggression and the explosion at the Aikazov fuel depot. Former MP Tigran Abrahamyan recalls this.
“The situation was especially dire, given the panic that reigned in Artsakh: Azerbaijanis were already moving freely in different settlements and the capital Stepanakert; some people were packing their bags, trying to find transportation and gasoline, and thousands were already heading to Armenia through the Lachin Corridor.”
Some medical workers had already left Stepanakert due to various circumstances, and a limited number of medical workers and volunteers were responsible for providing first aid, treating, and subsequently transporting hundreds of wounded to Artsakh – from those with shrapnel wounds to burn victims.
These people remained in Artsakh until the last moment, heroically fulfilled their duty to the Motherland and saved hundreds of lives.
I have immense respect for these people and for all those selfless people who, in an extremely difficult situation for the Motherland, preserved their human and professional dignity and fought to the last,” he wrote.
