Ambassador Hovhannisyan presented the efforts being made by Armenia, in particular, to strengthen human rights protection mechanisms, promote gender equality, and advance the agenda of protecting and preventing children’s rights.

Դեսպան Հովհաննիսյանը ներկայացրել է Հայաստանի կողմից իրականացվող ջանքերը, մասնավորապես՝ մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանության մեխանիզմների ամրապնդման, գենդերային հավասարության խթանման, երեխաների իրավունքների պաշտպանության և կանխարգելման օրակարգի առաջմղման ուղղությամբ։

Turning to regional developments, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Armenia noted that although efforts to strengthen peace continue, a number of urgent humanitarian issues still need to be resolved. These include the ongoing detention of 19 Armenians, the clarification of the fate and whereabouts of missing persons, as well as issues related to cases of enforced disappearances. The resolution of these issues will contribute to the consolidation of peace in the region, building trust and reconciliation.

Անդրադառնալով տարածաշրջանային զարգացումներին՝ ՀՀ մշտական ներկայացուցիչը նշել է, որ թեև խաղաղության ամրապնդմանն ուղղված ջանքերը շարունակվում են, մի շարք հրատապ հումանիտար խնդիրներ դեռևս լուծման կարիք ունեն։ Դրանց թվում են 19 հայերի շարունակվող կալանքը, անհետ կորած անձանց ճակատագրի և գտնվելու վայրի պարզաբանման, ինչպես նաև բռնի անհետացումների դեպքերի հետ կապված հարցերը։ Այս խնդիրների լուծումը կնպաստի տարածաշրջանում խաղաղության ամրապնդմանը, վստահության ձևավորմանն ու հաշտեցմանը։
