The court allowed Serzh Sargsyan not to participate in the examination of written evidence in the "Black Fortress" alienation case

The defense attorney of the third President of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, Amram Makinyan, today filed a motion at the court hearing on the "Black Fortress" alienation case to hold the hearings in Sargsyan's absence.

ՀՀ երրորդ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանի պաշտպան Ամրամ Մակինյանը «Սև բերդի» օտարման գործով այսօր դատական նիստին միջնորդեց այսուհետ նիստերն անցկացնել Սարգսյանի բացակայությամբ։

The court decided to allow Serzh Sargsyan not to appear at the hearings during the written evidence stage, while noting that it sees a need for Sargsyan to appear at the hearings during the witness interrogation stage.

Դատարանը որոշեց գրավոր ապացույցների փուլում թույլատրել Սերժ Սարգսյանին չներկայանալ նիստերին՝ միաժամանակ նշելով, որ անհրաժեշտություն է տեսնում, որ վկաների հարցաքննության փուլում Սարգսյանը ներկայանա նիստերին։

The court today completed the preliminary hearings in the case and moved on to the main hearings. During today's hearing, the judge rejected the motion to dismiss the proceedings against Sargsyan, and at the same time lifted the prohibition on the absence of the preventive measure chosen against him.

Դատարանն այսօր ավարտեց գործով նախնական դատալսումները և անցավ հիմնական դատալսումների փուլին։ Այսօրվա նիստի ընթացքում դատավորը մերժել է Սարգսյանի վերաբերյալ վարույթը կարճելու միջնորդությունը, միաժամանակ, վերացրել է նրա նկատմամբ ընտրված խափանման միջոց բացակայելու արգելքը։

Let us recall that according to the indictment, during Serzh Sargsyan's tenure as Minister of Defense, the "Black Fortress", a historical and cultural monument located in Gyumri, was illegally alienated.
