Armenia wins first Medal of Excellence at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 international competition

The 48th WorldSkills International competition has ended in Shanghai, China, where Armenia participated with a national team in three skill areas: “Cooking”, “Mobile App Development” and “Fashion Technology”.

Չինաստանի Շանհայ քաղաքում ավարտվել է «Աշխարհի հմտություններ» (WorldSkills International) 48-րդ միջազգային մրցույթը, որին Հայաստանը մասնակցել է ազգային թիմով՝ երեք հմտության ուղղությամբ՝ «Խոհարարություն», «Բջջային հավելվածների պատրաստում» և «Նորաձևության տեխնոլոգիա»։

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia reports that within the framework of the competition, Armenia’s representative, a graduate of Yerevan State College of Vocational Education, Arsen Armenakyan, led by expert trainer Arbi Gharakhani, was awarded the “Medal of Excellence” in the “Cooking” skill. This is the first medal achievement in the history of the Armenian national team’s participation in the “WorldSkills” competitions (it has participated 6 times).

Հայաստանի կրթության, գիտության, մշակույթի և սպորտի նախարարությունից հայտնում են, որ մրցույթի շրջանակում Հայաստանի ներկայացուցիչ, Երևանի մասնագիտական կրթության պետական քոլեջի շրջանավարտ Արսեն Արմենակյանը` փորձագետ-մարզիչ Արբի Ղարախանիի գլխավորությամբ, «Խոհարարություն» հմտության շրջանակում արժանացել է «Գերազանցության մեդալի»։ Սա «Աշխարհի հմտություններ» մրցույթներում Հայաստանի ազգային թիմի մասնակցության (մասնակցել է 6 անգամ) պատմության ընթացքում առաջին մեդալային նվաճումն է։

Arsen Armenakyan was also awarded the “Best of Nation” award for the best participant in the Armenian national team.

Արսեն Արմենակյանը նաև արժանացել է Հայաստանի ազգային թիմի լավագույն մասնակցի՝ «Best of Nation» մրցանակին։

Other participants of the Armenian team also recorded high results. Aramayis Hayrapetyan, a student of Yerevan State College of Informatics, who participated in the “Mobile Applications Development” skill, received only 14 points from the “Medal of Excellence”, while Luiza Zakaryan, a student of the French-Armenian Educational Center, who participated in the “Fashion Technology” skill, received 37 points.

Բարձր արդյունքներ են գրանցել նաև Հայաստանի թիմի մյուս մասնակիցները։ «Բջջային հավելվածների պատրաստում» հմտության մասնակից, Երևանի ինֆորմատիկայի պետական քոլեջի սովորող Արամայիս Հայրապետյանին «Գերազանցության մեդալից» բաժանել է ընդամենը 14 միավոր, իսկ «Նորաձևության տեխնոլոգիա» հմտության մասնակից, Ֆրանս-հայկական ուսումնական կենտրոնի սովորող Լուիզա Զաքարյանին՝ 37 միավոր։

The selection of the representatives of Armenia was made based on the results of the national competition.

The participation of the Armenian national team in the competition is important not only from the point of view of the competitive results of the participants and experts, but also from the point of view of international professional cooperation, exchange of experience and the study of new approaches in the field of vocational education and training.

Հայաստանի ազգային թիմի մասնակցությունը մրցույթին կարևոր է ոչ միայն մասնակիցների և փորձագետների մրցակցային արդյունքների, այլև միջազգային մասնագիտական համագործակցության, փորձի փոխանակման և մասնագիտական կրթության ու ուսուցման ոլորտում նոր մոտեցումների ուսումնասիրման տեսանկյունից։

Armenia has been a member of the “World Skills” international structure since 2012, represented by the National Center for VET Development (NCVET), which coordinates the implementation of membership and the functions arising from it.

«Աշխարհի հմտություններ» միջազգային կառույցին Հայաստանն անդամակցում է 2012 թվականից՝ ի դեմս ՄԿՈՒ զարգացման ազգային կենտրոնի (ՄԿՈՒԶԱԿ), որն էլ համակարգում է անդամակցության և դրանից բխող գործառույթների իրականացումը:

Armenia was also represented at the level of an official delegation within the framework of the competition. Siranush Meloyan, Head of the VET Policy Development and Strategy Department of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, participated as an official observer.

Մրցույթի շրջանակում Հայաստանը ներկայացված է եղել նաև պաշտոնական պատվիրակության մակարդակով։ ԿԳՄՍ նախարարության ՄԿՈՒ քաղաքականության մշակման և ռազմավարության բաժնի պետ Սիրանուշ Մելոյանը մասնակցել է որպես պաշտոնական դիտորդ։

A three-day conference on vocational education and training was also held within the framework of WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, during which the development of skills, the impact of artificial intelligence in educational processes, the development of vocational education in accordance with the changing demands of the labor market, the expansion of international cooperation, and other issues related to the VET sector were discussed.

WorldSkills Shanghai 2026-ի շրջանակում անցկացվել է նաև մասնագիտական կրթության և ուսուցման ոլորտին վերաբերող եռօրյա կոնֆերանս, որի ընթացքում անդրադարձ է կատարվել հմտությունների զարգացման, կրթական գործընթացներում արհեստական բանականության ազդեցության, աշխատաշուկայի փոփոխվող պահանջներին համապատասխան մասնագիտական կրթության զարգացման և միջազգային համագործակցության ընդլայնման և ՄԿՈՒ ոլորտին առնչվող այլ հարցերի։
