“A criminal case has been initiated in connection with the disappearance of our serviceman in the Lachin direction,” the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan said in a statement.

“Information has been spread on social networks about the disappearance of Nasimi Rasim oglu Musayev, a conscript serving in one of the military units of the Lachin region of the Republic of Azerbaijan. We inform you that on September 26, 2026, due to the absence of Nasimi Musayev at the place of service and the impossibility of determining his whereabouts, a search was launched for him, and the necessary search measures were carried out by the relevant forces of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Emergency Situations,” the statement said.

Based on the materials collected during the inspection, a criminal case was initiated in the Investigation Department of the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan under the relevant article of the Criminal Code. Currently, the necessary investigative and other procedural actions are continuing in the case. It is reported that as a result of the measures taken, it was found that Musayev is in the territory of the Republic of Armenia and was arrested by the relevant bodies of that country.

He was arrested, and criminal proceedings have been initiated in the Investigative Committee on the incident.
